Are you… surprised that discussion is happening on a transformers discussion forum?

He has a great headsculpt, one of the best in legacy. Any changes to it would just serve to take away the charm he has.

It's funny that you clearly understand hyperbole, having used it yourself in this very reply, but you can't grasp why someone saying "disgusting" is perhaps not literally dry heaving at the sight of it.

Take a breath, dude, they probably just mildly dislike it.

I feel a reissue with better paint would have gone over much better.

A reissue would have had floppy limbs (the Elite Guard repaint from back in the day already suffered from that problem), chunky feet, and still wouldn't be able to hold 5mm accessories in its hands.

I'm a shameless defender of this toy and got him preordered, but I do understand the problem people have with his headsculpt. He has no lips, so his mouth is kind of "smiley potato"-esque, which contrasts with the rest of the line. As a result, I admire people's creativity to make new headsculpts even before the toy is commonly owned, and plus, all of the constructive critique is certainly helpful for future Legacy designs.
You can like something while being critical of it!

If the mouth had been more centred then it would have avoided this issue.
They could still have the smirk, but it he wouldn't look like he had his mouth dislocated
A reissue with better paint, being a bit smaller to scale better and having hands that can actually hold shit would be slightly better, but what we have is pretty good, nothing much you can definitely complain over except the head which looks very, very off. Any other issues are likely a symptom of being mistransformed

The only changes I’d make would be to make it rounder, and not have the middle stick out. Otherwise it’s perfect. The face is super reminiscent of the show, which is the best Bumblebee face design.

No you can’t. You have to like 1 000% of every thing you like. You simply can’t be critical. I won’t allow it.

Definitely getting but not a fan of the upper arms / engineering. but maybe its not as bad looking in person. I'd give this a 7 out of 10.

first few pages , i dont get the hate .... I can understand if its not your cup of tea, but some make it sound like they want to sue hasbro for making them look at this figure lol

While Wasp and Cliffjumper are the most likely reuses of this mold I'm most hopeful that maybe we finally will get a Glyph out of it and she's my biggest ask for it. I would much prefer an animated Glyph over a G1 Glyph. G1 Glyph is just blue Goldbug, thats boring. Animated Glyph is adorable.

What does "geewunners" have anything to do with this? People simply voiced their opinion about their dislike because honestly, this figure didn't translate well, even Prowl is still being seen as bad albeit by minority.

To this day, IMO, only Lugnut and Lockdown successfully translated into other vers (Animated to Live Action).

So he’s definitely not going to be for everyone, but I strongly encourage all to give this figure a second chance with better pics. He’s a lot more fun and dynamic in hand:

What those had wasn't a unified aesthetic so much as a unified design intent. What unified everything pre FOC was the fact that old characters got updated with mostly new looks but you could easily see some toys being more source based and some taking UT elements among other things and then of course you had the WFC toys having the WFC aesthetic alongside G1 updates. FOC was unified entirely by based on FOC and T30 was unified just by everything in it appearing in the comics but with the toys nevertheless being based on whatever source they felt like. You had Springer based on his popular IDW look, Blitzwing being a mashup of Animated and G1 among other things, Ratrap and Rhinox being just straight up BW accurate along with Tankor having a very BM accurate bot mode, and you had Whirl having a slight IDW influence on an otherwise blatant G1 toy look.

Siege designs were all G1 toon designs but not quite as earthern (seemingly) and with ER and Siege dove straight into source accurate toys. A "unifed aesthetic" was never an issue until Animated and Prime were suddenly on the table.

I think the biggest things that kill this Bumblebee for me are the faux feet, they and the shins just look off to me and I would've preferred a more straightforward transformation with the actual front of the car ending up as the feet since the big stompers look they'd give would've fit the character more, and the black stripe outlining the face on the helmet. Both those aspects just look really ugly to me and I can't vibe with it.
