Am I the only one who thinks that not only was this paint scheme a bad idea, but this is one of the ugliest primes they've ever released...? I mean, I get it. And if somebody loves this thing, all the power to them. But I'm just not feeling this figure, and for a $180 price tag?
It's limited run, only available in japan. Only people it really hurts it OP completionist. It's not uglier then Evangelion Prime. Only thing that I think are really ugly is the head color (I can ignore that color on the hands and legs) and the matrix should be orange, like basketball orange. EDIT: Went back and looked at the shoe. Color aside, not liking the way they decided to put the colors. They should have made the robot match the shoes (i.e. black head like the laces, yellow body and arms, stone gray legs). Than in cab form the cab stays yellow while the trailer hitch portion is gray.
Well looks like Collecticon got a few after all according to his Instagram. He's now back to $599.99 (but it's still preorder status?) and he's also offering a single loose copy for $399.99. Well, and the MP completionist... Picked one up on eBay. $350/shipped. Starting to pare down my collection by selling all my duplicates, but still have every MP released except for MP 1 Gold Lucky Draw.
I agree. I also noticed that the plastic quality seems to be lacking somewhat. It could be my imagination, but the hands aren't looking all that great.. I dunno.
Can you one day post a picture of all the boxes stacked together and tag me when you do. That I would like to see!
Damnnn! You easily have one of the best collections there is.. no KO’s either Museum quality stuff mate. Going to be crazy to see another MP10 with all your others! How do you store your boxes ? This is something I’ve been worrying about as my collection finally starts picking up legs again
Thanks! I store my boxes in the veranda. There’s a built in cubbard sort of thing in the concrete. I move every few years into a diff apt so my living arrangements change haha. But the boxes certainly are difficult to store. One problem is they’re exposed to pretty cold and hot weather during diff seasons. So I’m worried about Prime’s axes and other accessories that I don’t use. :/
The MP01 lucky draw and the Golden Lagoon MP10 are the only two I lack. That Lagoon figure is just ugly. Fool that I am will always be, I picked this one up and $329. So, when it drops to under $300 this week, you're welcome.
You don’t even want to see the storage room. It’s a spare bedroom in our finished basement. I also made the mistake of collecting 6in Star Wars Black Series figures when they started (also have every one of those and every vehicle - plastic crack addiction). This was when we had our first kid. Little did I know then... hence the current drive to sell any duplicates.
I never even considered there were MP completionist out there. Do you have to get every version (i.e. Takara release. Asia release. Hasbro release. Takara re-release)? Do you have to get every bonus accessory (i.e. Soundwave's cubes, Sideswipe's piledrivers)? Do you have to get every coin? If Takara re-released Armada Sideswipe under the MP tag would you be obligated to buy it?
1. Yes. I get every version. So. Many. Primes. 2. Nope. Don’t care about accessories. 3. Nope. Also don’t care about coins - although I probably have close to all of them. 4. Is it an official MP? Then yes. Not sure TT has ever re-released a non MP product as a Masterpiece, but yeah. I would buy it. I stopped buying the mainline toys a while ago (around the time of Age of Extinction). Too much variability in the quality of one product versus another. Say what you want about any given MP - some are more accurate, some with better alt modes, some with better proportions - but all of them are quality products. I did also snag every combiner set. So there is that too.
