I'm getting old and my eyes suck so I can't say anything based off this fuzzed out thing-a-mahooey.

I am very curious if he will have his minicon or not. If not that's a huge let down.

Feel like us getting the next biggest guy after the biggest one is a bit too predictable, I think we're gonna see 2 or 3 deluxes guys tangled together and mistransformed personally

As an older fan, I can totally understand why the UT would have it's fair share of fans. And even if the shows might not be looked on as being that good (it's not like G1 was a masterpiece of storytelling) that doesn't mean the figures aren't fun. Or that new updated figures wouldn't rock.

Heck, I love that Hot Shot remold of Siege Hound. It's a great toy, and I never even watched the show it's inspired from.

It doesn't even have to be mistransformed it'll cause a lot of outrage lol

If it's G1 people will complain, either because it's too G1 or because it's not G1 enough
If it's not G1 but is accurate people will complain because it's not G1
If it's not G1 but is stylized as G1 people will complain that it's not accurate to their source material, and then the really special snowflakes will cry about how they're not G1 still

The minicon is not listed among its features. On the other hand, minicons are meant to activate gimmicks, and Megalo Convoy already had the cyber key for that.
I hope we get some lights and sounds:

    "I. AM. METROPLEX!"

    "WATASHI WA MEGARO CONBOY"

    "G1 FOREVER!!!!!111!!!!"

I hope for those of you who really want this that this is everything you want in that character.

I also hope this means we can see more characters from the UT redone, especially those from Armada.

That said, this figure isn't for me.

I'm surprised they chose this figure because:
-I didn't realize Cyb Metroplex was that popular
-I didn't realize Hasbro expects people to pay a Titan-class price for him

    It could be that:
-It's a pulse kickstarter, so minimal cost until it's kick-down paymented
-It's an easy retool of something, so little down cost
-It's a UK exclusive, possibly for a TF convention in Scotland (?)

Either way, I am happy for fans of the original Cyb toy and character.

Me too. I was in college when RiD was on, and out of school when the UT originally ran. I did watch all of RiD, Armada, and Energon plus most of Cybertron, and I hated the shows. But coming off an era where Optimus was a gorilla I was thrilled to see robots that turned into cars again. I'm sure I won't buy every UT character in Legacy, but I'm sure that I'll be interested in, at minimum, any Optimus, Megatron, or Starscream they want to sell me, plus the rest of the main Armada cast (Hot Shot, Red Alert, Demolisher, & Cyclonus).

As someone who has no recollection of Metroplex from the show, and no love for what I do remember of the show, I don't feel qualified to say how good it does or doesn't look. Just that I think Tidal Wave would have been a better choice, that I have no personal interest in spending that kind of money on Cybertron Metroplex, I still want a new G1 Metroplex, but I'm happy for those that like it

Yes! I get that UT fans feel like G1ers are spoiled for choice while they've been neglected, but a crappy G1 Metroplex is not a substitute for a good G1 Metroplex. Give him and Fort Max proper new figures and I think there'd be a lot less griping about the titans moving on from G1.

    Old nerds? Absolutely unnecessary.

    This.

You don't need to be rude to any fan, including yourself, to make a point. If this has to be explained to you, then something isn't right and you need to work on that. We all do.

The labels have got to stop. I'm not sure when it was that people decided to just be awful and then try to do worse than they did yesterday, but if the internet is responsible then perhaps Snake Pliskin had the right idea at the end of Escape From L.A.

As for the price tag, they were already up in 2018. Places were charging between $159-169 for Predaking. I paid at least $159.99 for Scorponok (before shipping, way more after) and that was 2020. The Ark and Black Zarak are both $169.99 in 2021, and now Megalo Convoy is $189.99... We jumped $30-40 in 3 years, not the span of a pandemic. The pandemic just gave them an excuse to raise the prices with no one really looking. It's only going to get worse, pandemic or no. *points to TT's Raiden*

I absolutely believe inflation played a major part in it. It's getting to the point that they're charging what they can because they can. When Ollie's can still sell these figures for $6, 10, 16, 20, 50, etc... Something isn't right. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Ollie's prices are staying the same and I don't want them to go up and no, I wouldn't pay higher prices to them (ever), but I find it odd that they can keep the same prices in a pandemic and Hasbro's like "okay *shrugs*" something doesn't seem right there.

Tells me a lot of this (pre-pandemic) was a load of horsecrap and some after the pandemic is, too.

    Ah, gotcha.

I honestly think it will be Superion. That one seems like it would take more time to engineer properly to more match screen/comic accuracy in all 3 modes for each component. I could even see the 4 limbs being Voyagers to make budget for the extra mass their wings, nose cones and tail fins give them that doesn't contribute to bulk of the limb modes aside from kibble. If that's the case, maybe Hasbro would spread them out over 2 years. Though it's still up in the air(pun intended)
