Wonder who’s idea it was to make a dead optimus  

 

The new head really adds a good touch to this. I wouldn't be surprised if this was meant to be a SDCC release until the whole Covid-19 thing came and changed things.

 

Some people speculated that this "sleep mode Optimus Prime" and the "Alternate Universe Optimus Prime" are one in the same and now via his review PrimeVsPrime is saying that they are one in the same. I guess per the codes, this actually is AUOP.

I personally do not think a TFTM homage to deceased OP makes sense to be called Alternate Universe Optimus Prime, hes dead, not from an alternative universe, and I'm familiar with the dead universe, I don't think that works either as only the D void is actually from the Dead Universe but I guess an alternative version of Optimus could have gone to the dead universe of his reality and come out the other side into our reality etc.

PrimeVsPrime appears to say that this is a dead OP from a different universe etc.

Agreed. Like I said Sleep mode Optimus is likely more of an exclusive set while the Alternate Prime is something different entirely. If not RID01 then at least SG Optimus Prime.

 

I dig the new headsculpt, this could basically be a zombie Prime.

... Still wish it was just called "Dead Optimus"

this isn\'t the first time it\'s been done Takara Tomy did a Masterpiece called convey sleep mode aka corpse Convoy by some fans, but it was their way of hinting at they were doing you hot rod / Rodimus convoy masterpiece figure.

 

Looks like a pass from me, I was going to use him as a Nemesis Prime, heck I was considering BW Shockwave, as well to be a Hereld of Unicron.

But that head is clearly a Dead Optimus. I wonder if it's a wild idea to speculate for Part 3 Optimus will get a Commander Class Power Master, or a Titan Class Star Convoy.

Before anyone says we just got Updates, just look at the Generations line, Remake after Remake.

I kinda want some other Charaters to shine; G2, Beast Wars/Machines, RID 2000, Unicron Trilogy.

 

He comes with the standard blaster, not the 3rd party guns in the first teaser/review.

 

You think 3rd parties wont make a Nemesis head for him complete with teal stickers to convert him to Nemesis ?

This is amazing! I love how hes not just black and white but sepia toned. It gives him a Noir look. Someone get him a trenchcoat and a fedora

 

Which could present some issue as PrimeVsPrime is calling this Alternate Universe Optimus Prime and many fans will take that as Gospel and spread it out as factual information etc

 

He does have a paint damage application on his abdomen though.

 

What grounds is he calling it that when the stolen merch doesn't even have a box?

Damaged windshield tends to be more associated with Shattered glass Optimus (like having a scar across a characters cheek) but this one does have a paint app of "damage" to his stomach area)
