Which I already acknowledge was the goal, but also what ultimately handicapped the line. They wanted "accurate" G1 bots but then didn't go the extra mile with the alt modes (save for the Seekers). And as many have pointed out, the goal was to do "Sunbow accurate" bots but then they skipped an easy opportunity to do guys like Bee and Wheeljack who actually showed up in the cartoon with cybertronian modes.

Oh man, absolutely this. The closest we got were Crosshairs (who was more likely a Selects figure who got promoted to mainline) and CDF Hotshot (who *was* a Selects figure).

 

As long as he has blue fists though...

 

If this is real my theory is that this was going to be one of this year's exclusives for SDCC 2020. However, because of the whole pandemic prohibiting group gatherings, this exclusive will probably be moved to Hasbro Pulse just like the Refraktor Reconnaissance Team 3-Pack since that was initially meant for HASCON 2019 before being cancelled.

 

At least this one comes with a trailer that you can open up to serve as his death bed.

It's too bad we don't already have a Galvatron because you could do a "Megatron's Greatest Hits" pack with ER Megatron alongside Dead Optimus and Galvatron alongside a dead Starscream.

 

And a Scavenger alongside Prowl (with mouth spurting flame action)

 

Make some custom blast effects that can attach to Prowl's face...

I hope this is a repurposed SDCC exclusive moved to FC releases and not that "AU" Prime we saw listed.

I really got my hopes up for a Fire Convoy or Akane Shinjo!

 

Not going to lie. I already have ER Prime (and I love him) but my inner 6-year-old will probably make me buy this version just for the emotional connection to that moment. I wonder if he\'ll have battle damaged parts to be more accurate, because that would definitely push me over the line.

 

I hope he doesn't mean just the white cab with a standard Prime trailer. I would find that to be very much not awesome. We spent over a decade accepting white Primes as our only choice for a G1 Magnus. Now, if they use the ER Prime mold with a new trailer that becomes armor, that's a different story.

 

In the pic I saw there was a damaged head, but it was mistransformed so I didn't get to see the abdomen

 

The AU Prime is pretty much confirmed to be Fire Convoy/RID01 OP, thanks to the big list of leaks that said one of the Leaders would be a Car Robots/RID01 character that has a base mode and very traditionally "Autobot" colors.

 

Wasn't that specific leak only referring to concept art that the leaker saw and not an actual figure? If that was the case it could also be a shattered glass prime

 

That's what I'm also thinking that's the case. If we're getting definitive Earth takes on certain G1 characters Ultra Magnus makes the most sense to be one of them.

 

The plastic on the trailer hasn't been painted over (it's still mildly translucent), so it isn't a really good custom job. Official Gen Selects? Maybe. Personally, it being a KO would explain most things.

Maybe the Cliffjumper map piece was a clue.
