I would buy SG Jazz and Ricochet in a sparkbeat.
I really wish they would release SGs of Sideswipe, CJ and Soundwave.

 

If we're getting SG wishy here, I'd like all the SG characters based on their Diaclone colors please! Especially blue bluestreak.

 

Given how the two SG figures that have been revealed so far are sticking pretty dang close to the originals color scheme-wise, I wouldn't be expecting much significant reimagination for any others.

 

Same here. I liked to shit on TRU as I got older when it was around, but looking back on it when it shut down there was this void left to be filled, and the big 3 swooped in and filled it. Which sucks because they can, as was mentioned, survive without toys. I’d be comfortable saying at least 50-60% of the exclusives we’ve gotten would’ve been TRU exclusives if it were still around. How well that would’ve gone could be debated, but it’s unfortunate that we’ll likely never see a large scale chain specifically aimed at selling toys survive in the U.S. again.

 

I mean, if we have to split hairs the ones we've gotten so far are technically reimaginings since their bodies are not UT-based remolds.

And a ""proper"" SG Jazz would just be SS86 Jazz with a purple sigil and angry car eyebrows.

 

The same thing is happening across retail. Barnes and Noble gets closer to bankruptcy, there's fewer options for publishers to try out new authors and ideas. Comic book stores close, you get stuck with primarily the big 2 super hero publishers putting out the same stuff as channels are more limited. It's a large part of why we keep getting G1 as Hasbro, like most corporations, is less willing to try something different as there isn't a breadth of options and space to cushion the blow of failure. Any changes will be incremental and can/will be vetoed by Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Target whether directly or just by them being unwilling to try it. Heaven help us if a new idea bombs.

 

Well, considering FunPub did Ricochet and Stepper in SG and Hasbro probably isn't as likely to do both of them... especially since they've made Ricochet Stepper's US name... they could just use Stepper's color scheme for Jazz. Honestly, I'd be fine with that.

 

Do we know the size classes for next year's Tarantulas and Prime Bulkhead and Prime yet?

 

I hope Tarantulas is a deluxe.

 

Did Ultra Magnus ever get the SG treatment? I just want a dang Delta Magnus deco! You could call him Cousin Albert for all I care!

It’s hilarious how many Megatron, Optimus, Sideswipe, Starscream, Arcee, and Prowl repaints we get but not a single Ultra Magnus in a completely new deco.

I refuse to talk about the silly Netflix Magnus we did get…  

Even Hound and Sunstreaker got multiple repaints!

 

Yeah, Magnus was done on the RTS Laser Optimus Prime mold with the alt head Hasbro made that was never used at retail for whatever reason. They based the color palette on Diaclone Powered Convoy/Delta Magnus.

 

Wonder what they're gonna do for the SS '86 Perceptor, the TR Deluxe figure is already pretty dang accurate.

 

imo idw is the best starscream, major media wise though...yeah no sorry Prime scream blows cool ranch out of the bowl

 

Character yes for both, IDW F-22 for design, IMHO.

 

I really hope we get the IDW F-22 design as a voyager someday. Really want one as Thundercracker.

SS86 Jazz as Treadshot would help remedy that but we really need Soundwave and Thundercracker.
