It's A spirit, I don't know if it's THE spirit. I prefer rye
Those are mostly full of redecos though. What about Tailwind? Or Seawatch? A lot of the remaining half are pretty unique. They can't be repainted from an existing MM mold without just changing them entirely. They may be packed with bigger bots, maybe like Countdown was packed with Omega Supreme. Seawatch with Broadside for example, or Tailwind with Lugnut.
It's things like this that 3P companies could pick up on, the stuff hasbro is unlikely to go back and do, instead of just churning out multiple masterpiece copies. I'm not a 3p buyer generally as I prefer official. JUst a thought.
I don't think it's useful to appeal to third party companies. Especially when advocating for these characters and encouraging Hasbro to go out of their comfort zone is how we're getting so many good, official representations of characters in the first place.
Thanks. I stocked up at the liquor store today on tequila, beer, gin, and some peculiar golden-red wine with grapefruit in it.
I'm ready for the weekend and PrimeVPrime's review of Scorponok.
Aw man! I'm so drunk I missed out on that pun
You know when you think about it, the best modern Pretender figure is CW Ultra Magnus, and that.....kinda makes me sad.
You know, this is an analysis of the impact of Toys'R'Us that I had never thought to consider. It is so obvious when you point it out, but I had never even thought about it before. Wow.
Why? He doesn't mind.
Yeah, that UM toy would've be a fantastic little redeco into Landmine or something. Would've been an excellent online retailer exclusive.
But it's way cooler, and sometimes that's all that matters.
And it's more convenient for sneaking up on the oysters.
Creepiest thing Disney ever did.
Waiting for Tailwind, Detour, and Roadhugger.
I think if they were to do pretenders the optimal way to do it would be the shells as something like weaponizers, modulators and fossilizers with the bots as core class that the shells can attach to. Would give mix and match options for a play pattern and options for some of the larger/more prominent characters shells in the larger price point.
The death of the evil queen, eaten by vultures.
-The Lion King
Scar eaten alive by hyenas
All the initial scene + the lil' monster girl in that photo
The death of Kerchack's cub, the death of Clayton
-The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Pretty much everything about Frollo, which was also portrayed pretty close to how he was in the book
Jasmine gets almost buried alive after she tries to... huh... "distract" Jafar in order to allow Aladdin to steal the lamp
Kids turned into donkeys and then enslaved and tortured
TF Fans: "We'd really like modern updates to Pretenders, you know, robots that fold up into shell disguises."
Hasbro: "OK, so keep making figures like Netflix Elita-1 and Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee? Gotcha."
Yup, that's how I'd do it too. Obviously the Pretender shells can also transform like the Siege Weaponizers transformed.
I got core class Optimus the other day as a b-day present and I WAS BLOWN AWAY. I strongly dislike figures that are smaller then deluxes because my prejudice is that they are cheap and uninteresting. I've been really proven wrong with the new core class figures. So anyway, yeah, let's do something with core class plus voyager class pretender shell. It doesn't even have to be a gimmick that consumes the entire line. Just produce 1-3 voyager Pretenders in each line going forward.
The pinnochio thing is pretty creepy too, but the rest is more gruesome than creepy IMO.
The best Pretenders are the ones not made. The next best are the PotP Pretenders that are relevantly sized as opposed to trying to pretend that there aren't giant robots popping out of normal sized humans.
It's a spirit BOMB!
They weren't regular size humans in the comic, only iirc the Masterforce cartoon.
Separate names with a comma.
