I'm happy with how the metal came out. If I ever get to the store and buy some gloss red and blue I'll hit the truck parts... But this is fine for now.
Lookin' good so far, just don't forget the oblique & foot panels that need to be blue when you grab the paint...
Looks nice!, too bad Hasbro are so f'ing lazy to paint things properly in the first place but you've made the mold look 100% better.
Mine's not? http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/236598-rotf-leader-class-optimus-prime-touch-up.html Probably I'm too small a fry to get noticed
For a toy that's meant to be one of the showpieces of the entire ROTF line they should IMO go all out on everything.
They probably have to balance out the budget for each toy, if they didn't the other toys would suffer and everyone would buy just that one toy, that's not good business is it? And they don't have the time to add these touchups to EVERY single Prime figure, if they did costs would go up and there would be an even bigger "drought" of these figures and we'd be complaining about that
Nice catch... This will push me to buy that blue and red faster than I would have otherwise. Speaking of painting the blue and red: We need to petition Repro Labels to make airbrush stencils for the flames. I'd love to give a nice shiny coat of paint to the truck, but without professional die-cut stencil stickers I'm afraid to mess with the flames.
Thats one thing that aggravates me about this figure. Hes awesome, I grabbed him friday evening, but the cost cutting that has happened is a damn shame. We lost the articulated hands, the collapsible tires, the folding box in the sides of the legs, and then add on the poor paint apps...
considering the complexity of this toy (beyond anything main-line ever) yes EVER, how can anyone be "upset" or ANYthing negative about some other parts not being "perfect"? Cheebs- ROTF OP has metal?
Nope. I just meant that I was painting the plastic bits that should be metal but aren't so they actually look like metal.
It'll happen,it's just too bad that Hasbro's idea of a "Premium" paintjob means a couple of missed details from the first version and some weird frosting on the windows that resembles bird shit.
Just added the red and blue to the 'bot. Soon I'll move on to the truck mode. More pics are attached to the first post.
