Hey everyone, so I'm trying to get together the perfect DOTM Optimus and was wondering if I could get some help. I'm looking for the best detail, movie accurate paint, his swords and a movie accurate flight pack with guns. Which version(s) would I have to buy to get this and would I need
This is probably the bestest thing you could find. Asia Premium Series Optimus Prime Ultimate Edition. The most accurate deco to date. And comes with just about everything. The only down side is that he comes with no mask and there's no alternate head.
That does seem pretty nice but the mask thing is kinda a let down and he doesn't have a movie accurate flight pack. That would certainly work just so long as you never cared for a trailer/weapons array. The UFO Annual Trailer is incompatible with the FWI Jet Pack. I mean you could just rest the entire pack on top but if you looked at it the wrong way it might collapse.
Definitely recommend getting the metallic FWI jetwing set for the OP if he plans on getting the new 10th anniversary Leader Prime as both will include better paint apps and match better. I would also like to mention that I found a way to attach FWI jetwing to the UFO trailer. I posted it on the FWI-4 thread but all you have to do is hang the jetwings upside-down from the clip that's on the spring. From there you can rorate the thrusters around so they look better. Not totally accurate but it is doable.
It's worth mentioning the the head of of the original ROTF Hasbro genral release is pretty much a perfect color match for the Asia exclusive pictured below. I don't know how expensive those guys are to get now, but it has to have been the most widely produced of the varients on that mold- between that and being one of the least desirable versions he might not be too expensive to get just for the head (if you don't already have one sitting around). That being said the asia exclsive below was missing the pinstriping that most of the higher end ones have. So I'm curious to see if they happen to reintroduce the pin striping on the upcoming one. But even without the pinstripe, I think this is my favorite deco'd one (I have a bucnh of the different varients).
Yeah I was looking at the different ones and the chrome is the one I would have to get. Can any of you give suggestions for hands and an axe? I see the hands and axes everywhere like shapeways, ebay and then tfsourc, which ones would you guys recommend getting?
