Hey, everybody, hope you're all doing well. At the moment I'm hard at work painting a heap of Siege Battlemasters into every single Targetmaster partner from 1987 and 1988. While I do all that, I'd like to introduce you to the newest addition to my Wreckers lineup - Verity Carlo. Verity was introduced to us as a teenaged runaway waaaaay back in the beginning of IDW's comic continuity, in Infiltration #0. Intelligent, resourceful, resilient and self-reliant, Verity quickly found herself entwined with the Autobots on Earth and, before long, stowed away on Ultra Magnus' spacecraft to leave her home planet behind. Art by Brendan Cahill. Verity was seen wearing a suit of powered armour in The Last Stand of The Wreckers mini-series, accompanying the commando unit of Autobots on their mission to the prison planet of Garrus-9. My Verity is a heavily modified Siege Battlemaster Aimless. The gunbarrels on Aimless' backpack have been cut off and relocated to Verity's arms. I used resin to smooth out the connections before I painted the entire figure in enamel paints. The orange colour of Verity's armour is a custom blend, as is the darker shade of silver on the gunbarrels. The silver is Australian Export brand Chrome spray paint. The semi-globe details on the armour are dabs of resin painted over with light blue paint. Verity's transparent faceplate is another tiny dab of resin tinted orange. I have decided not to cut the 5mm post off Verity's chest because I think it could be a useful feature to peg her onto larger figures to make it look like Verity is holding onto them. Thanks for looking. If you like my work I always appreciate your likes. Also, whatever your thoughts and opinions might be I'd love to read about them in the comments down below. Be well, stay safe and, as always, take it easy. ~L~
ive been looking for an idea to make her. I was looking at mega construx but this looks really good. I may have to give this a go. I am intrigued by the backpack. Looks like Rungs piece. curious what you were going for with it other than "wings". I would cut down the peg if you do not have it intended as a weapon. Not cut off, but cut down. If you intend on using it as a mounting peg i really dont think you need it to be that long and intrusive to the figure. another idea, since you are good with resin, is cut off the peg and drill a 5mm hole where it was and use a clear drinking straw filled with resin and make a clear peg (or dye the resin red) to give it a more cohesive look. over all though pretty awesome
Thanks so much, everybody! All her joints still work, sure, but wouldn't transforming kill her? Verity stuck her tongue out at me and transformed into a rocket launching pod. I guess she's fine. More than anything else, I just wanted her hollow back to not be exposed. It's just the leftover backpack from Aimless, post gun-removal, but I can definitely see the similarity to Rong's ornament mode. Tough guys. Thanks again, all your feedback keeps me motivated to paint more fun projects. ~L~
Dude! Want! So much want! Not if they implement -master technology! Remember when Daniel became Arcee's head?
