I have a fairly large collection with prototypes, lucky draws, Boxed and AFA G1 bots and many infamous, "lunchtime specials."(20+) I believe that I definitely agree with the quality side, even though my collection is far north of 275 pieces. I can honestly say the star of my show would have to be my clear G1 Optimus or if you prefer him in chrome, I have that too. And Rodimus Prime looks glorious in gold!

I have just been diagnosed with MS and I am probably going to have to part with my beloved collection. Do you think I would be better of parting out my collection or selling it as a single unit?

MS is very expensive and just to go get an MRI, it's like a grand! Any thoughts would be great.

This is a good post, but we generally discourage replying to such an old thread. I've moved it to a new thread because I think you'll get some good advice.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Generally, I think you'll be more successful selling pieces individually, especially the rarities. They'll be attractive to rare TF collectors who may only have interest or budget for a few of your items.

Lucky you, and your rare collection. Mine sucks.

Personally, I'd piece it out. Much more money can be made piecing it out.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune...

Selling them individually with clean pics and clear descriptions is the way to go.

Definitely piece by piece as RID said. Since everyone does it, although I hate it on TFW, post it without price and wait for ppl to bid and you choose who you want to sell to. If you don't get the price you want go post it on e3ay

Sorry to hear that coming from a fellow Collector. At least you've some decent pieces that could fetch you higher dollars just when you needed it most.

I know I'll be real interested in the LDs that you might have for sale so maybe we can work something outta those? :)

Piece by piece and then small lots for the stuff that will have a problem selling. Unfortunately sometimes people are in a hurry and have to part with large portions.

sell your rarities piece by peace and the more common retail items you could sell in small lots, large full collection lots take a long time to sell and usually go for less money then then the figure separately would bring in.

Sorry to hear about your condition , best wishes to you.
