So, I'm really enjoying the AOE generations toyline, for the most part. But my one real and obvious complaint would be simply the lack of Decepticon figures. Beyond Stinger probably being announced at SDCC, we have no guarantees of anymore deluxe Decepticons being released in the TF4 generations line. So it got me thinking, with possibly no deluxe Steeljaw to army build or Voyager Junkheap combiner on the way.. what previous movie Decepticon figures would work well as TF4 off-screen KSI Decepticons? Besides the one I'm listing below... I can't really think of any. ~Minor TF4 SPOILERS~ Deluxe Darksteel works for me the same way Stinger works as BB's evil clone, he just created differently. I'd guess KSI based Stinger off of various gov't BB photos... perhaps, but perhaps they used a more gruesome approach when designing Darksteel. The CIA probably hunted down all of the previous supporting cast Autobots from DOTM that lived, thus why they did not appear in AOE (which was strongly alluded upon). So with that in mind, KSI probably got ahold of poor Sideswipes remains via the CIA and made Darksteel from his body design. So, with just a tiny bit of imagination, this previous off-screen movie Decepticon toy seemingly fits with the overall KSI storyline presented in the movie, more or less. Can anyone think of other previous Decepticon movie figures that could actually work like this, as off-screen characters in TF4? Also, not to beat a dead pony, but why doesn't Hasbro (and I mean in the USA, not just Taiwan) finally release deluxe DOTM Sondwave in black and call him deluxe AOE Soundblaster? That toy would sell nicely, and my display badly needs more TF4 deluxe Decepticons.
Dang, I was beat fair and square by a couple hrs. Thread Dead. Go Here - http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/994073-aoe-vehicon-stand-ins.html
^This. I recommend the drones (Swindle, Payload and Dreadwing/Overcast) since the AOE Decepticon were essentially drones.
Yeah, considering there were only two distinct Decepticons in the film (if you even count Stinger as 'distinct'), and some generics, there wasn't much to make Decepticon toys of
