Thank you sir.
A special render for Spreem lovers....
I just had an idea. Looking at the older upgrade set before Bruiser, if you added a pair of shoulder guards that clip onto the kreon arms that might fill in the sillhoutte and look a bit more natural...less anorexic I guess, you could add a pair of rails on the outside for parts like Prime's stacks. Just a thought
You're not that far off from a "shoulder bell" type of part that I came up with. I just don't have the free time to act on the idea so I offered it to tresob on seibertron.com who has been doing a TON of character specific vests and helmets. I think his character sets plus my upgrades would look fantastic together
My god. Yes!
well now that you've provided the guys name, I will have to look him up
here's a headstart:

And here's his shapeways shop:
Retro Rocket Hip by Tresob on Shapeways
Here's a render with an Omega themed vest and a quick model of a kreon wearing the addons.
and playing around with some of the parts... still need to figure out what to do w/ the rest of the parts but I'll come up with something
the torso siders and some of the limb parts could probably connect to make a suitable launch pad
I hope you show this pic to Vangelus
Good call, I think I have an idea on what to do
I tweeted him and TJOmegas the pic but neither one bothered to respond to me
Omega Base Mode!
I've managed to come up with a full on base mode using all of the parts in the kit plus the kreon
so cool, any plans for metroplex or tripticon?
that's not a bad idea. Maybe you could make a new head and hand pieces for multiple characters for multiple large scale characters
I want one of those omega supreme kits... The idea is amazing it makes the kreon look a whole lot better
Maybe, I'm looking at these kreon kits as sort of cutting my teeth as I hone my skills and get better. Working my way up to doing full on transforming robots, but Metroplex is not out of the question. Hadn't thought about Tripticon.. I'll have to think about that one and how he might be done... I wouldn't mind having an upgraded scorpinok either now that I think on it...
thanks a lot mate
Unfortunately this is a LOT of 3D printed material so I totally understand the reluctance to purchase a $45 kit to upgrade a $4 figure :/
Does anybody think it would be worth the time to try and setup a kickstarter to get these parts injection molded? Last I did the research, I'd be looking at about $2000 for molds (aluminum) plus production costs so I'd hazard a ballpark need of about $5K or so to break even. Assuming a production run of about 500 brings the cost to about $10 per unit (in ABS) but that also means having 500 folks interested in it
Would investing in a personal 3D printer be a viable back up plan if that fails?
I've looked into that and I'm not convinced that the domestic ones like the Makerbot are capable of producing the parts. Fellow board member destrongerlupis has tried printing a few parts on his printer but hasn't had any success. The printers that would have the quality of print that we're used to with shapeways tend to run in the neighborhood of $10K to start.
I'd LOVE to get one of those though haha
If I had one of those I would HAPPILY provide competition to shapeways as a printing service for the TF community.
Yeah, I was asking him some similar questions not to long ago. Guess I just saved 1k
I missed it! ;_;
