The head look blotchy. Lego-wise its not hard to build fully transformable g1 grimlock without partsforming. How much would u guys willing to pay for it if i make a few? :)

Yeah, the head is quite blocky but I kinda like it. It gives Grim that cute baloony/cartoony look. The choice of Kreons for the set is kinda weird. You get G1 Grim dino as the build, G1 Grim Kreon, and then a mish-mash of TF4 Kreons with BB, OP, Galvy, and Lockdown. Of the TF4 bots Lockdown is the best. Wish it was more geewun with something for Grim to "smash" or a background. But if those are my only gripes they're completely overshadowed by a very doable price point where nostalgia overruled and pushed me to the checkout.

I sort of thought the Center was just the playset we finally deserved. I didn't think they would abandon robot builds. Not that it's official and the Dinobots still kind of count. Everyone's favorite part of Kre-O, Lego, or any building toy will usually be the figures. However, this is one set where it seems people are buying not just for the Grimlock Kreon but the set itself too. The best scenario for me is when I buy a set for both the build and figures. Getting tired of Lego Superheroes sets constantly making irrelevant and random vehicles instead of more scenes or playsets. At least with Kre-O the build is of a Transformers character and letting the Kreons ride it is fun. Robots done right and released half and half with playsets I think would've been solid until they do transforming builds.

I don't have any Beast Hunters sets but surely they've improved since the original sets. There are people disappointed that this doesn't have a robot build and with this set I agree. Honestly, I'd rather have a poor robot mode than none because even if it's bad we can just leave it as a t-rex which looks great. I wanted to see if Hasbro could finally get it right and if not I'll use their build as a base for a more accurate one. Movie Construct-bots aren't just more of the same so they could apply that to their Kre-O builds.

If you're in it just for the figures, that's fine. We all are but I'd like to get more out of my building toys whenever possible. Since they force me to take a build with the Kreons I don't just want to take out the Kreons and leave the rest to rot. I didn't plan on buying any movie sets until this one and while I'll always appreciate more scenes/sets there's a part of me that'll miss building a robot or improving on the instruction build so they look better.

Meh, not impressed. The plastic looks cheap, his teeth look crap and the claws on his feet and his tail don't look chromed anymore.

Masterpiece has really taken a dive recently.

Hey, see those round circles on his hips and oddly jointed arms?

A t-Rex doesn't have those, what kind of dino is Grimlock supposed to be?

It's funny everyone complained about the robot modes in the old sets and now that they are not making robot modes everyone is complaining. Seams like the real shame is that they didn't include the other 4 dinobots Kreons but will include yet another BB,OP,LD & Megs, seams like they should have keep the set G1. However, if that means we get four more Dinobot G1 sets I'd gladly buy a few extra Kreons, I can always use parts. You have to figure that most of these AOE sets are going to be reused in the up coming Jurassic Park line next year, and they wont have robot modes.

Considering the amount of joint pieces that are included in the legs and tail I think there is almost all the pieces needed to turn this into a robot, minus a molded head. With a little adjustments and maybe a few extra parts I think you could probably turn this into a stegosaurus or a triceratops too. Wouldn't mind if they repainted it purple and threw a few Beast Wars figures into a set.

I like it. Do you or anybody else that bought it already have the 6 digit TRU item #? I think they call it the "R" web #.

the lack of a robot mode and size makes this a good candidate for a trypticon...

It's Bumblebee, Optimus, Lockdown, and Galvatron, not Megatron. And yes, it is funny.

Awesome. I don't mind that it doesn't have a robot mode, because frankly it'd just stay in dino mode anyway. I'd rather have a really good looking dino Kreo instead of both modes, each with major faults.
