Quite right . Every wave was a chore to acquire for me and these things always could be just be out of reach. I had lost hope many times getting them. It was the nature of collecting these

I'm not usually one for Kre-o, but I picked up the Battle Changers Optimus vs Megatron set last week. They're ok, but Optimus has some serious chunks to him and the side panels on Megatron's legs stick down below his feet. Glad I only paid about $17 for it.

Yes I seen this as well . The wiseguy soundwave has one too only not wood but black bird with red lines on the wings. I passed on these as sourcing them outside the states is costly as well as them being just to silly. I decided on Shockwave,Soundwave,Hound, and Grimlock battle changers instead of these waves. It was either them or underbite now I only want blitzwing when ever he comes out in HK or Canada

Had Kre-O continued over here, I'd have bought "Wiseguy" and the transforming Soundwave *just* to give the little minions to the regular G1 Kreon.

Anyways, my 5-Below actually had the AoE Microchangers, so I grabbed Mindwipe and 2 Wingspans.

Compared to my original custom. I'm a bit too sentimental to just tear the old one apart.
There really needs to be an animal wing in between these 2 sizes...

Was also looking for Jetfire and Jaguar-guy, but none were to be found despite there being 15+ packets.

That sounds like a reference to the Maltese Falcon. That's awesome!

Im very impressed you got laserbeaks wings to stay up in that angle. Mine refuse to do that and will only remain flat. If I try how you have it they pop off and going flying across the room. Maybe its not worn in enough but im nervous the clip many snap to try to work them in

I've had that same problem with other wings of that type, like Thurst's. What worked for me was clipping the wing onto a Kreon arm. I could move it back and forth without it popping off. Then, I took it off the arm and clipped it onto the tile. It moved back and forth freely from then on.

A while ago, I rebuilt the dino Grimlock Unleashed kit into a robot. Here's some pics with Masterpiece Grimlock.

I couldn't use exactly the pieces from the orginal kit, but I was able to susbstitute pieces of equivalent size/color. For example, I used two 2x1 blue tiles for the robot eyes and removed the 4x1 blue tile. So, when I rebuild the dino, the parts I added take the place of the parts I subtracted. The only parts that don't have equivalents are the ball joint brick and socket tile used in the robot ankle.

The pic below shows the susbstitutions. The top row is the parts I added. The middle row is parts I removed from the original kit. The bottom row is the page and step of the instructions where the replacement happens.

The 2x1 bricks I circled in red are removed from the dino soles and reused within the torso. They are part of both the dino and robot builds.

Here's a couple shots without the armor that show the construction of the torso. They're from an older version of the build, so the chest armor is different. But, the torso internals are the same.

The fate of the official kre-o box sets might have been very different had they all been that proportional. Well played.
