Here's my idea, a 1x1 cone piece over SHockwave's arm.

    I used a trans-purple piece from LEGO.

    --Andrew S.
(I've since removed it -- I'm fine with the Kre-O gun arm.)

EDIT: Noideaforaname's suggestion is better if you don't want to go hunting for a piece you might not have, that's for sure.

EDIT 2: Added some more options using Kre-O parts, instead of LEGO parts.

    Thanks!

For a change of pace, here are some non-combiners:

I'm planning to eventually experiment with decals so I can give him his proper chest-window.

Thanks for the Skyfire info Boltax, will have to check out my pieces bin.

Lucky me with a day off, but I couldn't take that big hole in my movie cast any longer! Random bits bot has now been transformed into "kind of" Ultra Magnus. Now to make some sort of backpack, not sure what to put on it though . . :D

I've been trying to come up with a good display for my figures too. Some of the custom TF themed dioramas I've seen posted here look really great! But for me, I'm just looking for something simple and small that I can peg them into (for stability) and where they're all easy to see. Besides price, the problem I have with the enclosed Lego minifig display is that it doesn't quite allow enough space for those figures with big wings or other similar extensions. In case anyone is interested, here's what I came up with:

It's basically just 3x of 6x12 base plates connected together. I think this is fairly space efficient while giving each minifig enough room to not look too crowded. I chose the tan colors because they're pretty neutral and don't distract from the colors on the minifigs themselves. This design is modular, so it's easy to expand as your collection does. I've also built a 5x base plate version so it's easy to keep my combiner teams together, one team per row.

This is my Ultra Magnus prototype. I am not set on the helmet (it is a place holder), and still doing vectors for the chest, leg, and shoulder decals, I included a pic with OP for scale.

BTW, since so many dislike the translucent plastic on the Custom Kreons, I have added to my prototype desk the TF Prime Dark Spark versions of several figures. I think (hope) these will turn out pretty cool once I part them together & create the decals. Hoping to have most of my current batch of prototypes (28) done by January. Who knows...

Innovative use of the gestalt pieces! I like! Plug in some blue arms. PS-which face is that?

It's Blackarachnia's. I have taken to scraping off the lips on some heads to get a faceplate look.

I thought so, just confirming. Thanks! I don't know much about this character, but looked up some artwork & you did a great job!

Actually, all the the Shapeways parts on these two are by WuLongTi. Omega comes as one big kit. For Devastator, the helmet, hands, mixing drum, and dump truck bed (not really visible in this picture) are each separately available.

Cool, thanks for sharing that, I had been thinking about doing something all g those lines but wasn't brave enough. Now I know it can be done, I might give it a try. Any ideas for the hose Shockwave has coming off his gun arm?

I posted this in the KO thread, but thought it might be of interest in the Kre-O thread.

It took Chinese KO artists to make the ultimate Transformer/Brick crossover!

We have a mini G1 Devastator that has LEGO/Kre-O brick studs as it's connectors, and the vehicles have studs on their surfaces!

According to ther description it's about 5 inches tall (smallish deluxe) and it sells for about 8 yuan ($1.31 USD) plus shipping in China.

If they had made this with good quality plastic and in G1 colors, they could have made a fortune!

Cool :D  I like that face/faceplate idea, looks just like Getaway. I'd go with the blue arms too.

Well, here's my take on Getaway. :)
