I get it. I just finished the Snake eyes model. I wont buy one of those again. Scale is funky right off the bat, But then when you open the box, you are pleasantly surprised with a clamshell plastic that holds all the "rubber" goods. The pouches..the belts, the bandolier..feel..hands..I was really impressed. Then I assembled it. Its just not a fun build..very boring..and its one of "Those" figures that you just CANT TOUCH without some pouch falling off..Or straps getting in the way of articulation.. Its a mess. You would think the articulation would be incredible..NOPE. Not that great. Just does not have "character"..and character goes a long way. Cant find it..but they missed something on the overall look. Stand him straight up looking forward with his sword..Not bad.. the hands included can barely even hold the guns he came with. I see why the price on this one tanked down to nothing. If your bored and want a Snake eyes model..Its not BAD per say for $30..but Id rather buy anything else if I were to do it again.
I clearly have two 'things' I've noticed: I have a number of kits with multiple swords, and now I have multiple kits with dual pistols. Swords: ATK Girl JW-021, ATK Girl JW-059, ATK Girl Titans, Frame Arms Girl Magatsuki (Kikka), Asra Archer (funny enough, for the same reason as JW-059); ATK Girl Kimono Set technically (because it came with two swords). Pistols: 30 Minute Missions Spinatia Assassin, Bullet Knights Exorcist Widow, Chaos & Pretty Witch Darkness, 30 Minute Sisters Alka Carti The funny thing about the pistol girls is I only really liked Witch Darkness; sure, she was one of the earlier kits I built and still has some flaws in her, but I still can't help but like her. Probably need to fix up some of the rough spots on her, but I've generally been really happy with her (the face plate came from Figure Rise Standard Shion Shishibe (which most people don't care for and can be gotten for dirt cheap). I cut it down into the dimensions of the C&P face plates and it fits in like it was meant to be there). ... oh crap, I just noticed I put Witch Darkness and Exorcist Widow in identical poses. Not sure what that says about me.
I've been slowly getting into model kits and I decided to pre-order my first Kotobukiya one... I would say I'm not a fan of the price but It's a dark skinned elf cat girl with a rocket launcher so I don't care, I need her Shimada Humikane Art Works II Arsia (Another Color Ver.) with Anti-Tank Missile Model Kit
Hard disagree. Tamamonomae won't even stay together. Falls apart at the torso the second I try and mount her on the stand because her chest just does not hold together. Very disappointing.
Kotobukiya kits are snap fit, but considerably less snap fit than Bandai kits; using plastic model glue usually is required to keep things from falling apart.
Yeah, that's not an option here because the part that's falling off more or less is designed to come off because you swap her chest pieces between modes (plus like, four additional extra complete sets of breasts from the earlier uses of the Asra template still on the sprues) Fortunately, she's decided to stop falling to pieces and between that and remembering the joint in the tail backpack assembly, she's actually quite alright.
That's usually for weird design decisions like the common shoulder blade pieces. They shouldn't have an excuse for something like the chest. Kotobukiya kits are pretty wild in tolerance variances. SOL Roadrunner feels fragile as heck, but she never fell apart on me. In contrast Magical Girl Darkness practically exploded in my hands every time I handled her (and consequently I used her for spare parts. She's basically why I wouldn't touch Little Red).
Ok since i dont want to do a picture spam i'm leaving this link here for my opinion on the kotobukiya Arnval kit: The "show off your Busou Shinkis" thread

That's one hell of an update. There's alot to like there. Gunna be an expensive year for my modeling hobby...
I mean it's by Kotobukiya and this is basically an all encompassing Kotobukiya thread so I don't really see the problem. I was also gonna share the Mega Man + Brave kit updates but I reached the image limit so I ultimately prioritized what hasnt been shared yet. I may share the other stuff later but will ultimately depend if I'm feeling lazy or not. Also Same vibe!
nope... its made by koto... and i'm assuming that you dont get the reference since its from the old funnies section here on the forums. i might be wrong though.... please PLEASE tell me this is official! its way too funny!
I dunno, the thread title says Kotobukiya Frame arms/girls and associated kits, and the linked kit is Super Build Tiger, who is none of that. Wrong link? As for Goldion Hammer as a primary school loli, it's both amusing and slightly squick.
well... as mentiones before by gabriel, this super build tiger is a kit made by kotobukiya so still counts. also super build tiger is from tha brave series, the same as the cross frame girl gaogaigar also made by kotobukiya so.....
