We give big thanks to all all the fans who tried to support KAT-01...looks like it won't get off ground today...but this does not mean that KOncept Art is ready to retire yet!

We are working with a new factory to get a sample of Energon Sprung KO toy...from pics it looks like very good quality...price for stock unit is very good...we are hoping that we can get custom color at good price and make more reasonable goal for this project.

We want FAN input though so we get right off ground with perfect idea on colors and heads and everything else.

FAN QUESTIONS:
Which characters should be made? Like our top-two or want different choice?

If 3rd or 4th extra heads can be made...who should we make? (Did we leave anyone off list?)

Which character color scheme should we follow most closely? (For instance...do we do RotorStorm's pink windows even if they look funny on Cop-Tur?)

What accessories (guns/armor/whatever) are wanted for each character (more parts = more cost!!)

What we should we do with colors of super-mode parts? Can we use them creatively to help make new character?

Please give us digi-bash....fan-mode...pencil-scketch...idea talking...anything you like, we want to make KAT02 a big success so we can go back and finish KAT01 and make many more project!!!!!

To be honest, I think you guys are choosing the wrong mould here. I couldn't tell you who most of the guys on that list are and Armada Cyclonus is just one generation removed from that mould, isn't he?

One thing I liked that CHMS did was the Seekers. I'd buy more Classics Seekers if the quality was better than the CHMS stuff. Still. There's a TON of colour schemes that were never made and I'd love to see a Classics Seeker style Leader-1 ever since the Coronation guys did a new head for him. Take the opportunity to remove those stupid missile launchers and replace them with slimmer ones - easier to produce and easier on the eyes.

Some people think the Classics Seeker mould is dead. Well, there are other Seeker moulds, like the FoC ones. I wouldn't get that one, but I'm not the only fan out there. TONS of options there.

Another idea I floated ont he old KOToys board was reshelling the Rodimus mould. I suggested Swinderler ... you know, the DeLorean? With Back to the Future parts? I'd buy the HELL out of that and I'm sure others would too. That's TWO fan bases to appeal to. No idea how hard a reshell would be, but it's the same overall shape as a DeLorean and I don't think there's any parts that really interfere from one car to the other in terms of transformation. The only kinda lame part is that the back time machine bits in the back might have to be pegged in since I can't see them really working with the transformations scheme. Maybe if the spoiler post rotated around so the machinery is flat on the back.

KOs are good for cheap troop builders. And TFs are full of those. From Sweeps to Seekers to Junkions to Autoloopers. KO a troop building set with some small mould differences where appropriate. If you're looking to start small and need crowdfunding then I think troop builders would be the way to go instead of a single character. I mean, in your idea scenario people will buy ONE Strika, right? But people would never really want just one troop builder. Price them right and you'd be set.

 

I think either an Armada Cyclonus or a G1 styled version of Movie Blackout would be neat choices.

 

G1 Over-Run would make the most sense. His transforming appearance in the comics was based on that very mold...

No, Quickstrike is red and white. Over-Run is Orange and yellow. Here is a custom:



Among the choices listed, I wouldn't mind seeingh Blue Backus (call him Blue Devil), since he's a major character who hasn't seen a toy since G1, or Cop-Tur (call him Gyro-Bot).

If you did Highbrow (called Forehead-master) it would have to have a Headmaster gimmick. So if you were willing to do that, add that too.

BTW - Here is a Whirl digibash I found, but I don't think it would sell well, since Hasbro just made a Whirl.

Spinister is very cool character.... But since we can only do one colorway...not sure his colors look good with any other character and not sure he is popular enough by himself....maybe if factory gives us very good quote on custom color we can try

This is my ideal mold for Rotorstorm. I've loved the character (such as he was) before he ever appeared in LSOTW. This mold really accurately captures the size and a lot of essential characteristics of his original toy.



I would still very much like to see Over-Run finally made as well. Given how many years it's been, I get the impression FunPub doesn't seem interested in following through on that concept.

I'd also really like to see a version as G2 Powerdive. (The GDO should have been Blitz/Ransack)
