The panel liner will fill out all the details while the weathering kit is great for dirt and grime. There are many Youtube tutorials for easy Gunpla weathering so those might help too!

LMFAO, you wrote that all innocently as if you were the first to customize this figure and that didn't see mine and others a couple pages back...
Thinking about adding some copper/patina dry brushing to some areas, but not sure if that'll make him look too Dinobots-ish..

Love to watch your work. Does any of it show in the jet mode or is it still super clean? Post some pictures, please, when you feel like it.

Mine finally showed up today after sitting in customs for about three weeks. I'm very, very impressed out of the box. Even undersized, he's huge. I don't have Dragoon so this is my first experience with the design, and I have to say putting him next to Challenger I now see what everyone was complaining about with Challenger. Skybreaker makes him look like a toy.

That said, holy crap this transformation is nuts. I'm stuck on the legs and am writing this while I take a break. He's really complex and kind of annoying.

But I spent the first ~45 minutes out of package posing him and doing various fixes. On mine:
    • Cut under the neck ball socket to improve downward head movement
    • Shaved the right armpit to allow the arm to sit lower
    • Sanded shield peg and drilled out the bottom of the arm port to allow airflow when removing the peg
    • Tightened the thumb ball joints with Future
    • Adjusted the tightness of the screws at the elbows and hips
    • Edit: and there turned out to be extra flash on some of the pegs in his feet/engine covers; I had to trim that off to stop the parts twisting out of their sockets

Its worth noting that the peg on the shield really isn't any wider than the peg on his cannon; it's just that the ball joint is not strong enough to let you pull it out of his arm in the stock size. I did notice that sanding the peg down removed enough material that the shield will no longer stay pegged into the port on his back for storage. So that's a shame.

Anyway, I absolutely love this guy, assuming I can figure out this damned leg transformation.

Okay, I finally finished transforming him and

    tenor (2).gif

Jesus Christ, that's the closest I've ever come to raising a white flag to a transformer. Even with the aid of two different video reviews, those legs were a mess of mangling parts together until something sort of kind of worked. Even now I don't 100% feel like it's all together correctly. The whole middle area where the head and collarbone sits is very unclear still; the parts just sort of....wedge in there and nothing tabs and I don't like it.

Seriously, are the biceps supposed to be tilted slightly outward and the wings canted upward like this? It's doesn't feel like it, I assume it should all be right angles, but it won't stay that way.

The only thing I can think is that I've left the head in its maskless configuration, as the cheek guards seem to be colliding with things a bit.

For those who have Dragoon - is ko any harder to transform than the original?

Not at all. In fact the KO may be easier to transform due to the softer material but the tabbing system on Dragoon is better than Sky Breaker

The only part I noticed being harder compared w/ the reviews of Dragoon is the sliding struts that connect the chest armor to the "spine" of the plane's nose. On Dragoon they're die cast and slide with zero friction. Skybreaker made those parts plastic and it takes some wiggling to get them to move.

Soo his hips are really hindered going forward.

This piece of the hip skirt is blocking it. Has anyone considered snipping/shaving this off to make his legs go further forward?

If I am understanding correctly, the cheek guards need to be removed and flipped backwards to allow for the face horns to close correctly.

Correct. Theyre on square pegs and you have to unscrew the bottom of the head to pop them off and back on.

Why they aren't on swivels so you can rotate them in/out I have no idea.

Another mod one can do is shaving down the squared-off shoulder joints. I just did it and it makes the transformation into and out of the torso easier, as the arms better clear the chest armor and shoulder pauldrons. Why BMB blocked them off I have no idea. Highly recommended mod.

I came here to ask this. How? No other review showed it, and apparently mine doesn't. Mine only has one mode, it also doesn't blink

Damn, EMGO nailed with this pose

Just transformed this guy. It’s.... certainly something. Plastic is fine, just BMB plastic so meh. Transformation was both smooth and annoying. Just so much going on. Fingers are fairly loose and my fingers are pretty soar after this plastic. It’s a good figure, but I’m not as blown away as I thought I would be.

(granted, I need to spend more time with this figure, and I’m tired today, so stay tuned for real thoughts vs tired thoughts)

Hmmm...so I had some free time today. 1 question, what is the complete accessory package for this guy? 1 x of shield, sword, arm cannon and face?
    Thx :)
