I saw this KO of TM2 dragon megatron anyone have it http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRANSFORMER...d=100005&prg=9723&rk=5&rkt=5&sd=251538957466& is this worth it or should i get the orginal.
I actually own a green version of that guy (I recommend getting the green version, it's got gold chrome and it's actually really, really badass for a KO). If the quality is similar, I'd say you should just get the original. It's not that the quality of the KO plastic is BAD, it's just that TM2 Megatron's transformation is very involved, and really NEEDS the best quality plastic. Otherwise it's kind of a nail-biting process, since you're constantly worried about breaking it.
Since I was too late in coming back to Transformers to get TM2 Megatron I naturally had no choice but to buy the KO version from Big Lots one year when they had him for like $20,and as the guy before me said the plastic is not as good as say the Hasbro version but as long as you are careful you shouldn't have no problems. But speaking of myself I would still like to get the official one but not at $75 or $80 he's going for these days.
I picked up the black KO version and it's pretty cool in some ways I prefer it over the original which I still have as well.
I'd like the Black and the Green ones for sure - but I never seem to see them. As for fragility a little bit near the hips snapped off my Hasbro one so even that one is delicate (due to the metal flake I guess - the same thing happened on Super Fire Convoy too). I'll tell you what though that Red one's colour changes make for a superb "Zombie Dragon" Megatron from Beast Machines.
I had the red one on blister card package from Biglots a long time ago, and it was seriously a POS. the left arm was so loose, the dragon head could ever stay up. Get the original instead if you are into this design.
I must echo this statement. I have three different versions of this guy (TM2, Cryotek, and green KO), and I had no idea there was another drastically different version on the market. I must see my next grail.
Sorry guys, it's been a long time since I had him out, it's actually a very dark green with black and silver. Took a quick pic after I dug him out of the storage box he was in.
i have the green one as well, the red/orange one looks like crap compared to the original, but the dark green with some gold accent actually looks good. all the missile launchers are gutted, the swinging neck gimmick is gutted, and i think the wing flapping lever is gutted too.
How much are they now? I've still got mine, but I also have Cryotek, so if it's worth selling one off... (the red is cool, but the blue is just insanely awesome)
So basically this guy, from 2008... http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/161768-ko-transmetal-2-megatron.html
I actually have a somewhat busted original ... maybe a KO would be good for parts. But $40, plus shipping, after conversion to Canadian seems like too much. *sigh* that's the problem with these knockoffs, even when you kinda want one the price is too high for what it is. Maybe someone has a somewhat busted KO they want to get rid of? If it's busted in just the right places and if it's not to hard to take apart ...
Echoing others, I snagged the forest green color color variant KO...not as good as the original, but really pretty nice...well wirth it for 10 bucks or so....aftermarket....not so much.
I've been looking for the green one for a while. But as for the red one? Don't skimp. Get the original. He's worth it. If you get the KO "Cause it's cheaper" you're officially going in my book of bad people that bad things need to happen to.
