I think now the comparisons on the visual aspects can be seen clearly. The paint job is arguably miles better in ThreeZero which makes it look realistic but the KO looks more like a mpm toy

Hmmm. I think the KO could be much improved with weathering. I do prefer the original overall, though I like the sculpt changes, and it is practically dirt cheap on ShowZ...Decisions, decisions.

I ordered it after i saw the good quality videos. I have a voyager ko, buster ko, lt-02, ls-03f and the black apple primes but this is so much more accurate to the cgi. The 3a dirt paint is better but it has so much details even without dirt looks awesome. I hope they will release the bee movie version too. Basically at april there were rumors for both primes.

Does this combine with Jetfire? I still haven’t been able to confirm. I’d like a second OP to combine with Jetfire. I can’t bring myself to do this with mine because it looks so good by himself. I was hoping this would be sufficient for combined form.

From the videos we have even if it could, probably wouldn’t be a great idea. The joints seem to be a lot more loose on this guy.

We don't know how the many pieces connect, it can be that the many parts are removable or can be fixed, but the chest piece is bigger than the 3a so at least there will not connect the jetfire part.

Would be awesome if it was downscaled.

Any idea when it's arriving? I really want this but if it's joints are as loose as people say, and there's no easy way to fix it, then Id be deterred from getting it

I wish anyone who made a movie OP figure would just buy one of those 3rd party heads and just KO that. Not even officially licensed companies can do the head justice, and half the KO companies can't either, yet these independent artists make the best headsculpts!

I love those 3rd party heads but they're so expensive lmao. It would be nice if companies that make kos used those but at the same time I can imagine they'd like to cut down r&d as much as possible by cutting non essentials

Unfortunately the independent artist's heads go for half the whole figure's price.

A good headsculpt is quite essential. That's where all the character and emotion of the character is. And I'm trying to say that they could just copy one of the tons of replacement heads that already exist, so it wouldn't really be "r&d" to KO something else. ESPECIALLY on this figure, that doesn't transform, and therefore doesn't need to account for transformation. There are even replacement heads that include switchout pieces for the jetfire combination already!
Yes my point is to have a good headsculpt from the beginning so we don't "need" replacement heads for literally every movie optimus toy since they all have shit headsculpts.

I'd argue the headsculpt for Takara Legendary Optimus Prime is quite good. But most others are not.

Eh it's usually the work of an independent artist so I can understand. Plus it's a whole figure technically

Yeah I understand, but I can also see why a company making kos wouldnt shell out the money for a head. I wish they would tho. might slap on my evasion mode head if I buy this lmaoo

I had to google that figure cause despite having owned it at one point, I'd completely forgotten about it. I'd rate it a 7/10 at best dude. And it's not even painted correctly.
All they'd need to do is spend $70 to get one from dino model shop then make a mold of it. Or just download some CAD files and make their own. I can't believe that KOing a whole figure would be more work than that.

Isn't it about the sculpt, though?

Looks fine to me. Not perfect, but acceptable. I still need to refine my sloppy paint work on mine though.
And the MPM isn't painted well either.
