Huh. I didn’t see this coming. I’m kinda confused why they changed the feet and chest, as those were already accurate. The articulated hands are a great idea, but sculpt /accuracy wise are a downgrade. The paint job is also super clean weirdly, missing all of that great weathering that made him look like he was actually metal.

I want to see reviews of this, as Threezero’s figures rely heavily on good QC for the joints and plastic.

 

Accurate is not the right word to describe the original. The chest is plain and lacking the detail scuplt, the leg is also not accurate if you compare to the additional leg that come with the KO as shown in the last pic at 1st post

 

Maybe it’s me but does the choice to go with a more black shade for the thighs, feet and hands look weird? Cause overall I like this but the color of them are just off putting to me.

 

Hmmm, I don't really see much of a difference between this KO and the original. Can anyone do some side-by-sides? It also looks like they removed the weathering and made everything very metallic.

The headsculpt still looks bad to me as well. If they'd done a really good headsculpt I'd be all over this, since it's the main reason I never got the original (and the proportions being off in some places). I think the original was compromised too much to do the Jetfire thing, so it doesn't work on its own as well as it should. This has potential, but I don't think it's doing enough for me to justify a purchase right now, although the price is really good!

 

The face looks very dead without the eyes lit up.

 

Aside on the coloring that we see which could be due to lighting, the different is very small as KO only added the scuplt detailing on the chest and seems like they also KO the articulated hand and leg. Other than that, proportion and the rest remained the same.

This KO will serve the group of people who which to have OP in both combined and individual mode but don't which to pay twice the original price. Still need to see how's the joint tolerance on this KO.

 

Thank you! I see some more of the differences now. The headsculpt is still bad but they did make the face mask wider and more accurate. I also see what they meant by more chest detailing, although it's still not great. It's really hard to tell what they did with the feet still.

Also does anyone find it odd that they are giving him the handheld swords?

Very good point! Also good for those who want to get some upgrade parts that are being sold but don't want it to end up being a $400 figure.

Yeah… all the “improvements” ironically looks worse/less accurate outside of the ab pieces. Good option if someone wants it for cheap or a secondary thing while the real one is combined. But I definitely would just get the original if I was to get this mold.

 

Actually on that video this prime looks not bad. Yes the 3a paint is much better, but for more than half a price it’s not bad. 5u bee was about 90-100 usd and this prime is bigger for 120. I think this will be not compatible with 3a jetfire and i don’t understand why they included bigger foots too. I really hope they will do a bee movie prime(maybe in cybertron mode) in this price tag.

That’s unfortunate. I kinda suspected it might be the case, since with no ratchets and high parts count Threezero figures require good joint tolerances. Just sucks to see that its joints actually are pretty loose/floppy.
