I PROVE SOME THINGS AND THE NECK DOES NOT MOVE FREELY BECAUSE OF THE SHOULDERS, I ALREADY TRIED SOME THINGS AND I AM DEFINITELY GOING TO RAISE THE HEAD.

Raising the head will make it non transformable.
There is already minimal clearance

I curently only have the "broken" DOTM head in my pictures but will take one later tonight of the 2007 head.

 

Got this guy a little less than a month ago so I've had time to mess with him.

I was honestly a little dissapointed when I first got him. There are things he does better than the UT, and things the UT does better than this guy. My main complaint is the upper torso area (the truck parts at least), which seem to be made of a way thinner plastic than the rest of the figure. The area that concerns me the most is the grille strut that holds the doors/side of the truck, replacing the die-cast strut from the original to a dissapointingly flimsy plastic one.



And with the amount of force you need to apply to get this plastic piece in place not only increases the chance of a breakage, but also has caused some new paint chipping to happen as well.





QC has been hit and miss on this guy for me. Had to loosen the leg ratchets because they were WAY too tight I felt like I was gonna break the legs everytime I moved them. I had a tab on the foot break off the day I got him but I managed to superglue it back in.
For some reason the top of the truck doesn't like staying together, even with the additional tabs. And as I was posing him for these photos, one of the ball joint struts above his legs snapped off (Not a big deal, they were more annoying being there anyway and I just popped the other one off.)



Everything else is pretty good though. Head is a little limited in articulation and sculpting but the rest of the figure feels good. Love the addition of diecast in the upper feet guards, DEFINITELY heftier than Nero. The knees are SO much better than UT as well as the arms. Just more fun to pose and able to keep it with the added plastic supports in his ankles and the solid leg sliders. I also recommend the mods that other users have done in this forum with the hood and the springs in the thighs, make this A LOT easier to deal with.





Overall, he's about what I expected for a upscale figure that was surprisingly on sale at ShowZStore right when he came out for some reason? I honestly think him and UT Nero can be interchanged with each other. They both have pros and cons that cancel eachother out. At this time, he's $75, which is a pretty damn good price for this guy actually. Other than the few QC problems I have with the figure, it's pretty good.

Just got this guy today and wow he is a lot heavier than I though he would be. Probably down to having a pretty large amount of die cast metal in him (especially in his feet).

I have only transformed him to truck mode and back once so far but man his transformation is a complex one. Although I can see it getting easier once I have done it a few times.

So far I am very happy with him. He is very visually striking in robot mode. The silver paint looks great, and the blue/copper/gold highlights really help bring out the detail in his sculpt, especially on the torso.

Well worth the money.

 

i still dont have him and i was wondering if i should get this version the OS voor around 66e or should i get the UT version second hand for around 157e. i dont have any OS versions tho...

 

If you don't have anything oversized, the KO is way too big. Even the OS Challenger seems a bit small next to him

I also got a mint in box Nero for sale, I'm in the Netherlands

 

And I have the OS for sale.. In the Netherlands as well. That said, I am selling him cause I am getting Nero.
(Altmode thing, this is a big truck at almost 1:26.. HA sized) so of you dont have any OS Figures I would get Nero

 

The OS version is more detailed compared to UT I have done some painting which you can take a look although it's not fully done yet

 

Any insight as to what paint I need to touch the leg up. Some paint rubbed off on my fingers today

Silver, blue and gold was affected.

 

Bought some acrylic paints and small brushes and went to work trying to touch up the thigh... silver did not apply nicely and didn't match at all, so I rubbed most of it off.

I went ahead and added color and details all over the front of the figure to match the prime studios deco and the cgi model best as I could.
Probably going to add some gloss mod podge to go over the flat black I added to the right thigh.

Overall I'm really impressed with what I was able to do. This is my first time painting any sort of figure.
I'm going to work on the back today and use an ultra fine gold paint pen to add gold to the head, and also possibly a black liner.

 

Well this sucks...

I had paint damage on the roof section of the cab, the black part above the window.
Asked replacement at ShowZ, got everything i don't need and this note.


So i don't it'll get fixed...

so apparently there's an upgrade head coming. I like the illuminated see-through bits and I also like the fact that it's painted so that it doesn't have the dead eyes.

Finally, a Galvatron upgrade head that doesn't look bad! No offense to Leafage since they usually do good stuff, but their Galvatron head just wasn't it. I'm digging this one and would be very interested in getting it!
