I kinda used some pics from you to point some things out.
They messed some of the upscaling, because something doesn't really line up, they modified it but caused other problems with that.



The roof not closing is because of this lip


In a previous post, i showed that i removed it, because rotating the roof/back section will cause damage.

In you pic you can already see the paint damage


I removed the lip and this is what that does to the roof


This shows they got some of the scaling wrong, as the lip forces everything up, while on the original the lip isn't there and it all lines up.
Its a choice you got to make, either have the roof a bit off, which you don't see from the front, or cause paint damage on his back and put force on the rotating joint.

I made a first 3d printed modification.
On the original you could slip in the hand canon on the back as sort of a booster.
The new panels for the ankles make this impossible.

I made 2 half moons which slot in, you rotate them 90 degrees so they get locked in on both panels
And then you can put the canon on the tabs.

 

Mine showed up a bit ago, absolutely love this thing.

 

Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong? Or how to fix this?

When transforming from truck mode back into robot mode, the large flat panel that contains the arm does not align with the torso:



When you fold it all the way up, the peg does not go into the slot:



It looks to me like I've transformed the torso correctly, but maybe I didn't? Where is my error?



I suppose I could force the tab into the slot by using brute strength and literally pinching the pieces until they align...



...but that puts a lot of stress on this load-bearing hinge:



Edit: I FIGURED OUT WHAT I WAS DOING WRONG!

You can't just forget about the spring-loaded truck-mode seats when you're transforming the chest. You have to make sure you finish the chest transformation with the seats pushed down. As in, when he's in robot mode, the seats need to have their springs compressed.

The image below shows how it should be.

Now, the large panel with the arms fits into place!



After doing the truck roof mod, my spring-removal mod for the legs, and after making sure you transform the seats correctly...

I need to see how I do this but this is the size the doors need to be to have a better altmode.

 

I made a way to let his right arm get a little straighter. Requires some cutting and trimming, and it will leave a small square hole on the roof, but Form Follows Function, I say.

The little tab goes into the new space cut out of the panel that blocks it.



Much straighter! (Right?)



Edit- I also trimmed material inside the elbow to give him more bendiness.



I'm going start a Radicons thread for this guy, we can all post ideas and mods we've done to him.

 

This was one of my biggest problem with this figure so far and was thinking of also cutting off that tab. I'm just afraid it'll prevent the roof from sitting flush in truck mode.

 

Because of the lip on the roof section, the tab is needed because there is so much stress on the whole top section
I removed the lip, no stress and the tab doesn't do a whole lot anymore.

Its a tab that isn't there on the original, they put it there because things don't line up and they tried to fix it with lips and tabs instead

 

I don't have my copy yet but is it possible to just make the lip thinner so that it sits more flush? Or is the only option to cut it off

 

I actually just made it into a V shape, so it no longer has the sharp edges and it now works fine

 

Nice heavy boy for a cheap price. The cannon was hard to put on, got some paint chipping immediatly at first try. I don’t like that the diecast feets are brighter than the whole figure. He feels double the heft of the bs-02. I think the original utr-03 match better for him. Not the height, the wider chest and bigger head match better with him.

 

Just discovered this and super tempted. Bot scale looks perfect. How’s the vehicle scale? Vs say the original UT Optimus?

 

He's already too big for the OS version in truck mode, let alone the original one

 

I am very happy with the bot mode scale-wise. Looks really nice next to BS03.


Transformation though so far has not been as smooth as the original Nero. I hope I get some time this week to transform him again after I make the modifications people have been posting in this thread. Has anyone found out what type of batteries he takes?

 

I got mine today. I'm in the UK and mail strikes have been causing issues with deliveries. It's my first unofficial figure, but it was less than £60 which for what I got with this figure is amazing. It's so big and detailed, just like the movie. I need an Optimus now.

 

I used 3x AG2/LR726/SR726W/G2.

 

Thanks for finally responding! I just ordered some. Wow it uses three? Those eyes better light up brighter than my Christmas tree.

 

The ones I have are old. I left the eyes on for two minutes and the light dimmed significantly. They fit, so I used them.
I spoke to Ratchet's Repairs on YouTube and he used size 312 hearing aid batteries.

I finally unboxed him and had a little fun with him.


I used 2x AG3/LR41 batteries, they seem to be the most commonly used with these KOs.

 

I'm not entirely sure how but my figure went from mainland China to my local post office in 6 days. Doesn't even say anything about customs. I think they shot it out of a cannon. Knowing show z it will arrive immaculate but damn that's fast. I should have it in hand this evening. Also even though it's a significantly smaller package I ordered little monster the same day yet somehow it's not going to get here until Saturday. IDK what's going on but I'm grateful for the fast shipping
