In my experience of putting the kit together those tabs don't really clip in, they kind of just rest there.
I think it's more something within the connection of long haul and hook into the upper half of the kit that locks it all in as I found with just long haul in place, it was fairly easy to take him off but with the two combined in place I could pick up the whole thing by hook and it held together against gravity pretty well.
If there wasn't more magic going on somewhere I'd have expected the lower half to just slide off.

I just got my upscale kit installed today. Wow, it really makes Devastator a sight to behold. It’s also amazing how much more stable it is now. I had ultraman zoffy’s stability kit installed on it and most of it was able to stay in place. I also have his waist extension, so Longhaul was already halved. His legs didn’t go back on. His forearms came off as well. I think with some mods I could put the waist extension back in place and gain another 3/4” in height, just not sure I want to do that. I am really glad Jinbao partnered with LikeToys on this. Well worth it.

I feel you, I kinda love the short chunkiness. Have to be honest, either they make a set for the JinBao Bruticus AND TFM Menasor and I may keep this scale otherwise, I'm going with your plan and just use the slippers on the bottom.

I was finally able to figure out what I was doing wrong with the waist piece thanks to Benscollectables so I followed his video and decided to give the new pants piece another shot, I did manage to finally get it secured in place and... I am VERY torn.

On one hand, with the extended torso and longer legs he does look REALLY damn good in terms of proportions, and the legs themselves feel really nice and sturdy and they do clean up very nicely. On the other hand they look maybe a little TOO clean for my liking, the legs are admittedly a lot less greebled and more simple compared to the rest of the pieces so they stick out a little bit, the backpack is a bit unsightly (I know you can remove it but I decided I'd leave it on for now), he feels really top-heavy and back-heavy with the new legs and, while I'm not a huge scale nut, he does tower over Siege Omega Supreme now.

I will need to sleep on it before I make a definitive conclusion so I'm gonna leave the new waist on him for now, but thinking about it I might actually go back to the Long Haul legs with the knee extenders for the more cohesive aesthetic, better sizing with Siege Omega and feeling more stable and less top-heavy. But one thing is for sure: If I ever start collecting Masterpiece scale figures (which I pray I won't, my wallet couldn't handle it) I definitely have my Devastator sorted out for that! This kit is fantastic :D

Honestly if you're gonna use the new head then you might as well use the new legs, as the head is just as much of a mismatch for GB as the legs are. I intend to keep using the original head as i've never cared for a classic Devy head design.

wondered if you were to chase down yellow/black "caution" stripe decal similar in design to the various bots & put it on each side of the silver stripes on the upper legs. would that help bring it more together?

Trying out some dynamic poses with the new Gravity Builder!

    20230110_191919.jpg 20230110_192038.jpg 20230110_192322.jpg 20230110_192810.jpg

I wasn't able to get him standing on one leg, the ratchets aren't quite strong enough to support the weight, but all things considered its really impressive how posable he is for his size!

I just got the upgrade kit today and man he looks a lot better. I'm thinking about painting some of the upgrade parts because it looks a little unfinished in the paint apps. Can anyone recommend a good silver that matches (as close as possible) the rest of the paint apps? Im gona pain the legs as I dont care for the green thigh look.

NICE. I like the "come at me bro" pose!

Did you think about removing long haul's legs? That might be enough removed weight to get him to stand on one leg(?)

I decided to try that! Even after removing the backpack I had to fiddle around a bit, but lo and behold:
    20230112_171718.jpg 20230112_171855.jpg 20230112_171904.jpg

It can be hard to make out on my set thanks to the background, but I can assure you: He is standing on one leg, unassisted, without leaning or being propped up against anything. I couldn't even begin to fathom trying this with the Gravity Builder as it was out of the box, so this is blowing my mind. I had assumed that the promotional pics that Jinbao had put out for the new upgrade kit on sites like ShowZ were completely staged, but the fact that you can more or less recreate the poses perfectly is an amazing accomplishment even if I had to cheat a bit to get one of them working myself :D

I also did one last touch-up for the visor after the whole painting process: The flat finish of the satin varnish didn't feel right to me and made the repainted visor feel a bit "off" so to speak, so I applied a layer of clear coat on the top and got a really nice glossy sheen over it! Makes the visor look a lot crisper and more alive in all sorts of lighting conditions.

nah, I had asked before I got mine and no reply, but once I had it, I can confirm that this head is similar to the original "upgrade kit" head, so no go (and I already mentioned it in my review post earlier in this thread). I kept the original as I want the ability to transform back into the individuals without more than just removing the extra parts, I don't want to go to having to take things actually apart and back together as such.

Oof. Love the new kit. The stock ankles are such a weak point that my devy keeps falling over. =(

Ahhh... I feel 10 tons lighter.
Seriously, I don't know why anyone is on the fence when it comes to cutting off Long Haul's legs. MUCH better results and it's not even hard to do. Dew it!
