They got my money (so long as it isn't hugely expensive like their original kit) hopefully mass production will mean a decent retail price - looking at the DNA kit pricing for their scorponok upgrades I'm guessing the liketoys would be acceptable around $100? and if they offered the Prowl upgrade I could see that going higher

 

You are allowed not to like it as I'm sure many others will feel the same.
I like it though I do wish they had matched the purple and came up with a fix for shoulder ratchets.

 

The JB devastator has got to be one of the best all time value figures /combines ever. Cheap, fun, widely available.

Regarding the G1 upgrade kit.... It looks kinda neat and I'd grab it if it was like $20 more just so out of boredom and something to buy. I think the jb upgrade kit that the set already comes with now is just fine. Also.. I'm still not yet a converted believer of Hutz and Liketoys, but keeping an open mind.

Zero interest in the Prowl/ratchet? Head? Not sure if that is some 3rd upgrade kit or whatever, but no attachment to it and not for me.

If anyone is on the fence, I totally recommend just buying a new JB set with the currently included JB upgrade kit (the one with the drills) off AliExpress. I've got lots of much more expensive bots and do feel JB Devastator holds his own in all modes!

 

The Prowl head is from the IDW comics, Scrapper dies so Megatron uses Prowl as a test subject to make a new Devastator .

 

Got mine in from Aliexpress yesterday. Just got back into collecting Transformers and couldn't resist as it's exactly what I wanted Devastator to be when I was a kid.

Have to agree with the feedback that he's a bit wobbly when combined, but I'm reading through the thread looking for tips and tricks.

That said, I could use some help identifying these two pieces. I've tried searching this thread but can't seem to find out what they are. If it helps, I have the OS version with the upgrade kit.

Those pieces should be on Mixmasters bumper, if you look at your instructions for him you will see they are for clipping the bumper into place from vehicle to foot I believe.

I had the same issues when I got mine... and was annoyed with the cad not staying in place and then I figured these tiny parts out and they make a huge difference... I wish they did a different engineering for that, but it works.

Be careful with the pins for the shovels (to have the foot mode) as mine arrived with one pin broken... another design flaw, though I don't know how common this issue is, but I see this design using two small pins to hold the "foot" together to be a bad choice when they could have done a more solid part approach easily.

 

We need something like this for the JinBao OS Warbotron. I get that personal experiences aren't universal, but in mine, my Devy is Stable AF after I put some hot glue on the bottom to keep him from sliding. Warbotron on the other hand is flimsy as hell as he's too top heavy for his thin ass legs with weak ratchets.

I don't even have this Devy but I have always wanted a Devy or Devy Upgrade that can do the Full Prowlstator. I've got a friend who I know will be interested.

 

Just got mine from Mascot on ebay for the sole hope that this upgrade kit partners with jinbao. I've had a Devastator shaped hole in my display for top long. Constructor is too breaky, Fans Toys...lol, XTB is going to take too long, and Vectron is likely going nowhere. And if Takara does make one after Raiden, it'll be the same scale as Raiden, that is, pretty much CHUG.

Funny, that's the shop I got mine from. Even though it took two months to get it, I'd recommend the shop in regards to the toy quality if they ever come back from vacation and restock. Best price I found, which was around $130 shipped.

 

I've gotten the Toyhax stickers a week or two ago, and I've been slowly applying them to my bots. I love how they improve the guys, giving them a bit more colour, fill out the empty places left for the Desepticon insignia, and how much they look like the G1 stickers. Thankfully there were not many stickers with green on them (I did do a sticker surgery on a few, like Bonecrusher's scoop and Mixmaster's cabin front)



I got this Devastator because he scales almost perfectly with Mega Construx figures (Long Haul obviously excluded), and in G2 colours because I worked for a while in construction and yellow is all I saw.

I've observed some things regarding the figures, I'll post some images and questions at a later day, perhaps someone might have an answer.
