Is that by replacing that hip part that came with it? I've had the kit arrive but haven't yet got to pulling things apart to replace stuff...

Question: is the NBK the same as Jinbao? Is it oversized?

Also is it true that the G2 version is a bit bigger, and has better quality?

It looks like G2 is bigger?

NBK is 1:1 with the generation toy so it's short. Jinbao is oversized. You can then purchase add on parts for the green and take it up to 18 inches.

G2 is only bigger out of the box as it includes the add on parts. Don't know about quality but I assume the plastic the same. The wobbles though are improved by the add on parts

Nope. NBK (as well as JinJiang) is same size as GT but simplified.

Jinbao is oversized. The posts talking about the upgrade kit is a KO of the GT kit but oversized to fit the Jinbao. The yellow boxed set comes with the upgrade kit already included. For those who purchased the earlier green version they can buy the upgrade kit separately. Other than colors, it would appear the green and yellow are identical, though some people say the yellow is more stable.

If you buy the green and buy the upgrade kit (it only comes seperately), it would be the same size as the box set yellow (which includes the upgrade pieces)

I got my kit yesterday. I hope to put it together today. Any tips I should know about? With the instructions being in Chinese, I hope to not break anything, but knowing me...

If you purchased the yellow Jinbao set, the upgrade kit is already included in it.

Hint: KO companies LOVE to use the word 'deformation'.

For the green version you have to buy it separately and several pages back there was an image of the packaging:

The 1:1 original GT version's packaging is different:

There is only ONE upgrade kit so there's no confusion. Plus, the green version comes as 3 boxes of 2 figures; labelled A, B, C

So can someone tell me, should I get this guy? Reason I am hesitant is I got their Feral Rex a year ago... and that thing just falls apart whenever I try to transform it in combined mode, and the individual modes are just so freaking hollow. Does this figure and Warbotron have the same problems/ Are there any problems this or Warbotron have that I need to be aware of? Is it as bad as Feral Rex?

How is the quality on Devy and Brute compared to Feral Rex?

Jinbao's Warbotron and Gravity Builder are massive improvements on their Rex. (Own the first two, briefly had a Rex.) I can't say I've had any problems at all with my Warbo, and while my GB is a little wobbly in combined mode, that could just be my individual copy and the overall quality of the bots is far superior.

Feral Rex was JB first attempt at OS'ing so it was okay at the time. Bruticus and Devy are much better quality-wise. Plastic quality is about the small. I have not experienced any brittleness or stress marks, but I don't handle my figures that much.

My only dislike about the Rex is now he is smaller than the other two.

Maybe Jinbao can OS their OS Feral Rex with improved stronger ratchets to compensate for the larger size...

People are saying the add-on kit improves stability.

From what I hear, POTP and WJ's Predakings both scale perfectly with JB Bruticus and Devy

    • WJ's is a 1:1 KO of POTP so they are the same height at about 18 inches
    • Jinbao Warbotron is about 18 inches
    • JB Devy is about 18 inches
So in their standard released versions they are all the same height
    • JB Devy with the upgrade kit will improve stability but it will be out of scale with WJ / Hasbro Predaking and JB Warbotron. You improve the stability but it loses scale
See the below pic for the height difference after the ugrade kit. This is pictured with WJ Predaking

I want to love my OS Devy. But he is so unstable, and the Mix Master and Scrapper don't hold together at all in combined mode, so mine can't stand. At all. And the legs just won't peg into Long Haul. The amount of force needed to attach it makes Mix Master and Scrapper fall apart. Before you can put them back together they detach from Long Haul again and the entire process starts all over. Very frustrating. If they worked out the stability issues more...this would be a nice set.

I also heard the upgrade improves stability. Which might be worth it...plus I love the added height.

Waiting to see a few reviews first...

Doesnt bother me too much since I feel like Devy should be larger than other Combiners but that's just me

From what I've read on these boards though, yellow seems to be less wobbly than green and have better joints all around. Maybe others with both, can comment?

That being said, my yellow without the upgraded knees wasn't stable at the knee joint and would lean slightly forward. Rock solid with the added knee joints
