I picked this set up last week but disappointed there isn’t a Toyhax set for it - does anyone know if the ‘wings of uranos’ 3p set would fit some of the individual bots here? Just want to liven up their bot modes a little if I can.

No idea, bruv... but you might be able to cut and splice them to improve the look.

Has anybody here ever come up with a way to fix Silverbolt's hips/ankles to allow for a way less awkward stance?

Grabbed myself a set of these guys from TFSource, they were on sale and I figured I wouldn't be able to find these guys at a lower price.

All in all I am impressed! While these are pretty much just upscaled Combiner Wars Aerialbots in terms of engineering, they feel at least a million times better and more durable: The plastic quality is good, all the joints are and tight and these guys look great together!

They are also, like, REALLY big. I figured that they would be, but actually having them in hand they still surprised me, especially Silverbolt!

And the main event, Superion... He is FANTASTIC. I am having some slight issues with getting Skydive into leg mode properly (the arms wont tab into his thighs) and the butt flaps get slightly in the way for arm articulation, but thats really all the complaints I have. He looks clean, he feels sturdy and solid, all the joints are super nice and he is large. But not too large, which is precisely WHY I wanted Jet Commander here instead of going for the Zeta combiners: He scales perfectly with WFC era figures, particularly Siege Jetfire & Omega Supreme and the SS86 Dinobots! This 45cm scale is where I would ideally want my combiners to be, and Jet Commander is a great start to my collection! Here's hoping I can get my hands on Jinbao Warbotron and the Demon Knight OS KO CW Defensor soon :D

I guess the only thing thats a bit unfortunate is that he now completely towers over Legacy Menasor, but I display the two of them on separate shelves so that won't be much of an issue thankfully. Hmmm I wonder if some 3P company would be willing to do OSKOs of the Legacy Stunticons at some point down the line, upscaling them to the 45cm Jinbao combiner scale...

At least Superion can bully Menasor effectively now

160 bucks? Not a bad price, and most certainly worth it... congrats. :thumb

I can;t wait for the DK Defensor to pair up with my Jet Commander too. I'm hoping that they follow up with a other OS guys, particularly Computron who just isn't seeing that 3rd/4th party love.

I'm still hoping we'll see CW Bruticus get the same treatment as DK Defensor. Always looking for combiners to put with my CW Devy

I decided to follow the guide from BensKOllectables on how to flip the joints on the feet around so you can have the leg bots positioned the other way around, makes him look more faithful to the G1 Superion design and in general I think he also looks cleaner and less cluttered without the jets on the front!

    20230105_130319.jpg

I also removed Silverbolt's hands since they were on simple mushroom joints, I prioritize combined mode over everything else in this set so I am fine with that bit of parts removal! I am currently trying to see if there's some way to remove the butt flaps from the arm bots to free up the arm articulation more, they appear to be pinned but I can NOT push the pins out by hand and I am too scared to use a hammer since I don't want to risk breaking the wings. Will need to figure something out for them!

It does admittedly restrict the leg bot knee bend to just one click. Knee articulation ain't that much of an issue for me considering he's just gonna be standing on the shelf 95% of the time, but even ignoring that you can still make it work if you use Silverbolt's knees in conjunction with the one click you get from the leg bots: Its a bit funky but you can still get dynamic enough poses with the legs :D

At least swapping the feet joints is a pretty easy thing to do, so if I ever feel like I want to get more knee articulation I can just reverse the process and get back to the stock configuration. For now I am happy with this setup though

This guy gets it. 18-inch tall combiners is where it’s at if you want them to scale with other WFC figures. I wish Menasor wasn’t so damn puny. The only defense I have for Hasbro is that Menasor had to be that size for the individual bots to scale properly in car modes. I wish there could have been more “mass shifting” Tom-foolery going on with the engineering to create a tall Menasor while still having bots that scaled well. Perhaps if the trailer made a bigger torso & added a bit of length to the limbs? We’ll unfortunately never know. I bought the DNA kit to help with the height, but Menasor will still be undersized by at least 2 inches. What can you do? This is why I also collect 3P legends figures I guess. :)

Well, with this upgrade is at least almost same height as YES MODEL Defensor but of course not as much as JuJiang Superion.

Not necessarily the EXACT same size, but I would at the very least want Menasor to come up to Superion's chest so he can still be a head shorter. I'm fine with Menasor being shorter than Superion, similar to how Siege Omega Supreme and Combiner Wars Devastator scale with one another, but I don't want him to be TOO short either!

Honestly if someone can cook up both leg and also torso extenders for Legacy Menasor, I think he'd fit the bill just right with Ju Jiang's Superion. Wouldn't need to go overboard with it, just increasing his height by 2-3 inches so that his head comes up to the red part of Superion's chest. Legacy Menasor has got gorilla arms anyway so I think increasing his height could make him look more proportional as well as making him a better match for JJ Superion ;D

Yeah, I'll agree to most of this... hasbro got the omega supreme vs. devastator scale almost perfect - I have the new tflab kits for legacy menasor, and am wondering if the dk-38 kit will work in tandem... dual thigh extenders might give it that sweet spot on top of the new soles on the feet when compared to jj02.

    But man, my wallet.o_O

Ok, so... im thinking both legacy menasor kits (if they are compatable?) together will increase height and proportions to a happy medium against jj02... here's some pics of a few of my combiners to help show menasor maxed out...

    Stock:
    20220910_201226.jpg
    Tflabs:

Weird devs next to osko cw abominus, and of course jj02:
    20210618_173256.jpg

So if my theory is right, menasors thighs will be at least even in length to the lower legs with both attachments, and the added soles to the boots added... raising him up to the height of the weird devs here in the last pic?

About to hit the order button for the DNA DK-38 hoping some peeps can help me verify both leg adapters are compatable?

Nah, just one of many reasons why I always made the Aerialbots face the Combaticons, while the Protectobots faced the Stunticons. Made more sense in every way possible, including indeed combiner size -- and I don't even care about the combined robot.
