Received mine and it is all within expectations. However, I do feel the head seems overly big from a design standpoint.

 

It does feel a little like that, but it's pretty spot on to the CGI.

 

Anyone figured out how to crack his head open to access his eyes pieces?
Would be great to be able to paint his eyes a brighter shade of red!

 

There is a screw-cover on the right side of his head. I was able to remove it with tweezers fairly easily.

Remove screw-cover, unscrew, remove both sides of the head.

Head will hinge open from the jaw. The piece in the middle has the eyes. I was able to use the tweezers from earlier to pry it out.

I’m going to paint them myself now. Hope this helps.

A bit brighter, but doesn’t pop as much as the Dreamfactory KO with painted eyes. Probably just the sculpt.

 

Finally got him! He's massive, he's a beast and he's awesome. Definitely get him. Looks amazing in person.

 

He's great isn't he. I know some have said he's only got two colours but they do pop under lighting with all the detailing and different surfaces.

And yep, got BMB's on pre-order. WJ's got a great paint scheme, but other than being oversized, is the same thing. I'm interested in what BMB has improved with the backpack and beyond. How about yourself?

 

I'm not sure. All of my collection is official scale including Optimus and Megatron (even though I subbed in the KOs for the officials as the officials were poorly done). I do now have WJ's Optimus as well though, which I originally planned as just having as a standalone thing or on my eventual Prime shelf. Now I'm tempted to get a BMB or WJ Megatron to scale with him though. The problem is they'll be huge and the Honey Badger is already as tall as my shelves will allow.

For now I'm more than happy with the Honey Badger Megatron, maybe I'll just try and ride the wave of FOMO and hopefully the urge will pass  

 

Yeah man, he is massive at the mpm scale and I honestly don't know if I would like a bigger version. But... it's Megatron...how can I pass up a potentially even more improved figure??? Especially when he'll scale so we'll we'l BA's prime? Haha

He very well may! I've always liked Megatron being bigger than Prime  

However, my BMB ROTF Megatron absolutely dwarfs mpm Prime. It's like Bumblebee next to prime in the movies. Too small for my liking scale-wise, but to each their own!

 

So I've seen this on a few figures (mine included) where his left side does not snug down as well as his right side. This is evident where his "collar bones" don't align as tightly. I believe this is due to the key mode nose being longer on one side and the other.

Anyone have any fixes for this? It bugs me to think I'm putting uneeded stress on the figure to achieve a non floppy bot mode.

 

Am I missing something? There are tabs on the wings near the shoulders, between the wing joint at the torso and the joint for the slim secondary wing underneath. I haven't found anything to plug them into, except the wrists when the hands are removed from the wrists, but there's only room to have them pointing at the sky and that looks stupid.

 

Thats unfortunately the design.

 

I believe (if I understand which pegs you are referring to), they are used in jet mode to hold the peg ends of his chain whips.

 

That makes sense.

Sucks Rendsora ended up being too short.

 

I had him posed with legs slightly apart in that pic. Here's another. Note the TF Dream Factory Tank Megatron had his leg joints stretched slightly to give more height.

 

So, Rendsora ended up surprisingly being MP scale.
