It depends on how they are assembled ... you should see that one of the parts is thicker than the other because it is the head of the pin.
It was not very complicated with a small screwdriver, but you have to be careful not to break the plastic, very carefully.
Think I got a backwards gun as well. =( Had to remove it to complete transformation. Sloppy paint on the gold star in the front, which is a bummer. Most of the paint elsewhere seems mostly fine, besides the sloppiness of the two yellow lines on his belt. I appear to have a tolerance issue on the part the steering wheel is fastened to. I can't get it to sit flush alongside the wheel when pegging in the sides of the chest. Right arm ultra loose. I'll try the screw tightening under the hood that someone else mentioned. The left arm clicked into place with a bit of effort, but the right arm was a mother buzzer. I sanded it out repeated and now it's still tough, but it will click into place now. Perhaps I'll sand it more later. As a whole I'm mildly disappointed. Perhaps with some fixes it'll be great. I don't have a pin remover though or even a screwdriver small enough to be pushing pins, so I'm probably SOL on that end.
Got mine yesterday and mine was assembled wrong as well but I don't care as I will just take it off and store it with his other accessories, as once I get him robot mode he is staying there
Got mine yesterday. Pretty good on the whole. Everything moves and works as it should without cracking. The stock face has a paint chip on each side of the chin. Mine has one annoying issue I don’t think has been seen before. His right lower leg doesn’t stay attached. It’s definitely not broken. It goes on but there is not enough friction to keep it on securely. It holds in either mode but starts to droop when picking it up. I can probably fix it with some future or clear nail polish. I won’t be able to try for a couple weeks because I’m moving in a week and we packed all that stuff up If that is fixable, then I will be very happy with this purchase. None of the flaws are worse than the six cracks my official got after one transformation, including one clear across a load bearing joint. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the headlights have some texture on this release like the official. I believe that the first KO release had plain silver domes for the headlights with no detailing.
Wow, so the lower leg is just attached by a pin like that? Looks like the same issue that Fans Toys' Warpath had.
And so I've realized I hadn't twisted the legs around on mine this whole time. I'm also of the mindset to never do it after this, though I just did on mine and they've both fine. But that might be something I just leave alone in the future, since that panel is flat without hinges on it and looks perfectly fine (maybe...we'll see...).
Apparently so. I don’t think anybody knew. There just needs to be a little more friction around that tiny pin on mine and it should hold fine.
The other leg is absolutely fine on mine. This seems to be a rare species of fail...and probably a fixable one at that. Plus you lose a little bit of line work on the front of his legs if you don’t rotate them.
So the lower leg can be pulled out, if that's the case? What a weird design choice. That's also the same for the original?
I don’t recall this happening to anybody before, with either the official or the KO. I don’t think anybody knew. I sure didn’t. I’m guessing the construction is probably close to the same on all versions. I have no fear of it happening with the other leg, and that rotation joint was very tight on the Takara one I sent back after one day. Just for clarity I didn’t pull the lower leg off and it didn’t come off when I was rotating that joint during transformation. It just fell off when I was going from Jeep to bot out of the box once I untabbed the front end and the seats.
Received mine from showstore today, ereased the paint scuffs with the pencil eraser technique, but my biggest problem is a defective spare, it was assembled using 2 left pieces and cant attach it at all!
