Just ordered mine from tf-direct and opted for the faster shipping. Here's hoping for the best. This is my first time jumping at a KO and not waiting for some sort of review first.

 

I'm surprised RPA hasn't reviewed this yet. He usually get's his copy early.

This thing just barely up for preorder on taobao. None of the sellers have them yet.

 

Behold KO MP 28 from TFDirect. It arrived yesterday and the quality is absolutely brilliant.

 

If the KO has less floppy legs and better chrome applications I may upgrade my official version to the cheaper KO version.

And yes, it felt wrong just typing that sentence.

 

So is it labeled Takasa Tony? And are the chrome apps better/longer lasting?

its labelled Takara Tomy. Can't really comment on the chrome because I only got it yesterday. Quick rundown... It tabs together really well, all of the joints are stiff and tight, no problems with the transformation whatsoever, chrome appears to be well applied, comes with 2 guns, saw blade, fishing rod and a matrix (did the original come with a matrix?) downsides...sprue marks and a slight paint chip on his face but I think I did that forcing the head through. I can't see how the original would be much better.

Well, I'm gonna ask cause someone will eventually......does this mofo ROLL? Do all 4 tires actually touch a flat surface? Tires look plastic? Guess it didn't get the rubber treatment.

 

I just ordered this off eBay. I'm thinking Black Apple is gonna OS their's so I'm ok with the scale of this guy as my Hot Rod. Now to figure out whose making my Rodimus.

 

indeed they are plastic. It does roll quite well but we are talking about absolute minimal clearance.

 

So my tracking number from bestgrey finally activated. I'm a little pissed off because the item description didn't say anything about it being a preorder but that's clearly what it was since it didn't actually ship until after people started getting them from Tf-direct.

On the other hand, this would seem to indicate that it's the same ko that Tf-direct sells and not a factory reject or whatever so that's good. I guess all in all I'm happy: free shipping and the actual ko product instead of a factory reject. Just wish he'd been upfront about it. Are preorders not allowed when you sell through Amazon or something?

 

My tracking also just activated this morning (from Best Grey). I'm ok with it, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't annoyed that he said it would be shipped the same day the order was placed. But then it also said delivery was Feb 2 - 26. I'll deal

 

So it's a KO but labeled Takara Tomy? That makes it ethically troubling for me (personally... not critiquing what anyone else does.) I'm okay with KOs - totally okay with them - but prefer for them to be clearly labeled as such just so there's zero possibility of consumer misidentification.

That said, at least all the sellers of him so far are clearly stating it's a KO.
