oh man i need a 3d printer
MixMaster has had some tweaks between myself and AlphaCustoms, and is almost complete.
The kit is nearing completion.
Love the stubby little barrel.
Really looking forward to this kit, I love my downsized Devy, but these upgrades will make him look so much better.
Is it going to be one kit for everything or individual kits per figure? I can see one large kit getting pricey, whereas individual bot kits could be done in stages. Either way, I’m pretty much in!
Oh man, I was trying to quit this forum.
Then I saw this and started lurking again..
But now I don't wanna regret not having spoken up.
You guys have my support. I'm in too. This is going to be awesome. Only reason I might not bite is an earthrise Devastator (There was a CW Skylynx too, so y not?), so hurry up haha. Well, even if there was going to be an ER Devastator, this would probably still be a cheaper alternative
I don’t see them making a new one, certainly would be impressive. But I feel like this will be the default Devastator for a long while.
The only thing we're missing to get parity with the DNA kit on Big Green is an articulated set of hands and possibly the under-forearm filler pipes at this point (?).
Just sprang for the down-scaled toy a little while ago, would like to get this kit to enhance the smol Devy too.
Finally got all the parts printed in green filament. So, some paint apps required but I am really happy with how it turned out.
Alpha customs and I have been working to get this set of designs all figured out and I would say we’re 95% there.
Once we’re done, we’re probably going to be able to issue a package of the design files that will give a few options for some of the parts. So, you can customize the look.
I’m hoping this core package will be done this weekend.
I may still look at the forearms and hands to see if there is anything I can come up with as an improvement.
Oh does scrapper have new parts as well on the front?
yes he does.
Those parts are actually extensions for his stock feet. They’re just plug and play but I thought it was kinda weird that he was smaller than the other constructicons. So, I designed some platforms that just bump his height a half inch or so. Personally, I think he looks better proportioned with the add on parts.
Then for vehicle and combined mode, they just plug into the ports on the front of the shin and fill that area out a bit more.
are you going to create new hands?
maybe. I want to; but I feel a bit burnt out from this project. It’s taken so long to get to this point.
So I may pause and then return with new forearms and hands after a rest.
Right yeah. It’s also good since Mixmaster is looking pretty big compared to him, as a leg that is.
Well, he is getting very close now.
Modified crane for Hook based on design from Alpha Customs.
Forearm extensions with an adapter for perfect effect hands.
To finish him up I will reprint MixMasters drum in purple filament and then do some paint apps.
Aside from that, he’s done.
I do have one more part idea in mind but it’s not essential.
Looking very cool, cant wait to get the kit!
this is amazing, better than all other upgrade kits that I have seen for the official.
Finally got to painting and finishing the set.
Not saying I won’t add any more to it but here is the first pic of Longhaul with all of his latest modifications in place and painted.
Now, painting isn’t my best feature because I have really unsteady hands but I did my best and I’m pretty happy.
I ended up sanding the silver paint from his upper thighs, back to the green plastic, and an unintended weathered look. So, I continued the theme throughout and I think it looks good.
Other things you can’t see are silver rims on the wheels and I painted the backs of the thighs purple, like the Takara version.
