So this is the first time I've signed on to TFW in a Months. But figure i should share this and get thoughts

I was sent this pic from a friend of mine in Hong Kong he said he found it on one of the boards there. It sounds like it may be a Big Laser prime but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm interested to know others thoughts.

Could be cool, I'd be interested depending on the cost.

I really do hope that this sees release!

I would love to see an updated Laser Rod Prime/RID Scourge!

RID Scourge was THE figure that got me into collecting again, and I would love an update to him!

Could be Maketoys Gento that's in production, but the shoulders are changed up a bit

Admittedly, the original Laser Prime got a lot of things right for it's age even by today's expectations. And certainly holds it's own with the current generations releases. It was one of my favorite figures right up there with Dreadwing. Made that tank Megatron seem like a steaming pile of disappointment in comparison though.

Still, a leader class figure with updated features would be welcomed. Certainly looks to be sporting updated hand articulation.

Articulated finger? Not make toys unless they vastly changed the mold

I'll be all over this thing if it sees the light of day, the deluxe version we got was nice but so friggin' small. A leader class version of this thing is long overdue, bring it on!

I have had their Battle Tanker, and liked it; but ultimately sold it off... I only used the armor pieces from the trailer, but never liked it's 'base mode'.

I still have the Prime & subscription Scourge figures, but don't have feel the urge to buy the MT Gento/Nemesis...

What I'd really like is a base figure (w/o requiring armor pieces to bulk him up), w/ a faithful G2 inspired trailer.

Yeah I would had preferred they based it on the superior G2 version.

Its not. That's what KO's are; existing molds typically with only slight alterations, usually for the worse. You can easily see most of the chest and shoulders are 100% exact duplicates of hasbros original figure. Its a blown up KO with some new hands and little else.

It's either a proto for an upscaled/retooled RTS Prime... or a detailed custom with more bits harkening to the laser design (like the modified shoulder ports).

I grabbed my RTS Prime off the shelf and had a look. This is definitely not a 100% duplicate. Pretty much everything thing is different on this figure, but it's not going out of the way to be too different either. There is a different number of running lights on his chest, and his shoulders, especially the missile ports are not the same either.

Looks cool though, I'm guessing there will be a Scourge/Nemesis as well. Must resist.

Basically they took the RTS body and retooled the details to match the G2 mold, more specifically RID Scourge, since the angled detailing on the actual shoulder matches his sticker decals.

Seriously though, as borderline to KO as 3P can be, this is up there with the iGear seekers.

I didn't notice the more G2 accents. If you look closely at the RTS figure and this one literally every detail is different. His midsection and hips aren't even the same shape, no wipers, forearm kibble hinge sticks out further, no slot for the upper arm joint, and a completely different head. And that's without seeing the legs or altmode. Like I said they are not hewing far from the source but this is more than just an upscaled retool and the G2ish changes help prove my point. The iGear seekers at least 50% identical to MP-3, whereas this guy is not identical to RTS Prime at all. It's not even close to being as KO as the IGears. I bet a lifetime of Beryllium Baloney that this is a new mold besides the upscaling.
