    Ebay:
I recently purchased a Classics Thundercracker for (relatively) cheap. It appears to be not an "official" TC though upon inspection. It doesn't appear to be a custom paint job, as it seems to be blue plastic, and all the paint apps and details are in the right place and not sloppy at all.

And the plastic quaity is top-notch. Only two things are off....

No rub symbol. And even more off.....

    BLUE tail fins!

This seller also sells a lot of prototypes ant test shots, so I think it MAY be one of those, due to its high quality, but I'm not sure. So what do you think,. KO, or test shot, or other?

I've never heard of a knockoff of this mold, and a high-quality knockoff would be even more unlikely.

Compare the weight to that of Classics Starscream, or Skywarp. If they weigh the same, and feel the same, it's probably a test shot.

Third possibility, which seems incredibly unlikely: It's a real Botcon Thundercracker, but someone molded their own tail fins for it in the same color of plastic.

You can buy repro Botcon Thrust wings. It's possible.

I already compared the weight, and it feels the same. As i said, top-notch quality plastic.

Given that there is negligible evidence of top-quality Classics KOs in production, it seems you have a rather unique piece, then.

I got it off ebay. I'd rather not say how much, in case it turns out to be a KO, I don't want to have the shame of being ripped off in front of everybody lol. But it was cheap for a Classics TC, but would be very expensive for a "normal" seeker.

Now that's just a silly thought. Anyone who makes you feel ashamed is just a jerk. :redface2:  I've noticed most of the people on this board would lament with you and offer their condolences.

My question is... do you enjoy it enough for the price you paid? If so, then how much difference does it really make to you if it's official or knockoff? :)

    Agreed on the first statement.

On the second, well he bought it thinking it was an original and as it's a Botcon seeker we're talking about he presumably paid a fair bit, so if it was me it would make a big difference if it didn't end up being what I paid good money for, regardless of if it gained sentimental value.

Oh yeah, I enjoy it. If it turns out to be a custom or KO, it's a DAMN good one, and I'm as happy as I could be paying over $100 for what should be a $10 mold. :)
