What's ironic is now that Bluestreak's pretty much "branded" Silverstreak this KO will be his second Blue repaint. Funny, yes/no? Umm, yeah, anyway, I'm not too sure If I'll get him or not. He looks nice enough though, and he would add a touch of extra color to my Bluestreak/Silverstreak collection so I'll probably end up changing my mind by the end of the day... Or a half hour...

To be honest I kinda thought that Bluestreak's name was meant to match his personality more than his deco. 'Course I might be wrong, but that's what I've been thinking it was...

He got his name from being very talkative. It has nothing to do with his colors of silver/black. The blue/silver colors, I am guessing were rare in the Diaclone line and then it shows up on the boxart and in the catalogs. E-hobby should have done this long time ago. In terms of me getting this, it is most likely a pass because I took an extra reissue Bluestreak/Silverstreak and painted him blue/silver, which has been in my collection since March.

I think you vastly underestimate the issues here. When you do this, it is almost always the case that the mold created from this process shows signs of being a second-generation version. Faces look muddier, lines are less clean, etc. For the most part, this has not been demonstrated with the high quality replicas, leading many to believe that the original molds, known not to be in "official" hands, were in fact being used by the unofficial groups.

It IS, of course, possible to re-create a mold that one doesn't have, but to do this so cleanly is usually considered to be not worth the trouble, which is why Hasbro/Tomy doesn't do it more often, and why the KOs we usually see show such clear signs of being KOs.

Hasbro cracked down on some major KO suppliers (eBay, A3&U, etc.), but they have little access to do anything about the actual manufacturers.

It's always possible that there were more than one set of molds for the G1 figures.

The Hasbro/Takara factory may own one Datsun mold, while Zhong Jin may be in possession of another copy.

It's also possible that they're using more advanced techniques to reverse engineer a mold than other KO companies do.

If hasbro announced right NOW that it was going to do a bluestreak exactly like that and sell it for the 25th aniversary too; how many of you would not buy that KO??

I wouldn't buy the KO then... Hasbro.... Doooo itttt..

I wouldn't buy the KO either if Hasbro did it. But Hasbro would have to include the chrome weapons, and I don't see that happening. I guess you could always get a loose set of chrome weapons from one of the other Datsuns, though.

I'd definatly buy both, because I'm nuts for Blue Bluestreak. I have so much stored up energy of wanting this figure, I'd get any varriation. It would be awsome to fill up a shelf and dub it my Bluestreak shrine.

I can see the idea of thinking that buying this is a sell out. OTOH, how is this any different than buying a Diaclone original from an ebay seller? Hasbro or Takara wouldn't see a dime of that.

That's the thing that frustrates me most here. Takara/Hasbro/eHobby should see an obvious seller here. But they just won't go for it.

Exactly! :thumb  He "talks a blue streak."

Trademark reasons, actually. (In before Nevermore!)

Blue Bluestreak in G1 replica box? Count me in.

My red Mirage was great. I approve of good quality KOs that are obviously not meant to be the real thing.

I'm waiting too, albeit very impatiently. Every new KO that comes out ahead of it, I say *still waits for blue Bluesteak* Bring it out already.
