Hey all, I'm looking for high-quality raws of the Kiss Players and Teletraan 15 Go! Go! manga. The ones I found on /co/ looked like they were done on a library scanner and were distorted to all hell at the edges. I'm seriously considering translating them, as well as any other TF manga series you guys might want to read.
Unfortunately I think that copy with the blurry edges is the best scan there is online, as far as I know. Though I can imagine trying to translate that mess would be aggravating. The only thing I can suggest is perhaps trying to track down physical copies online somewhere, though I'm not sure how common they are to come across. Maybe check places like Mandarake or Yahoo! Japan auctions. Unless there's a better quality scan I'm unaware of. I'm all for translating neglected pieces of Transformers media.
There's definitely better scans out there. Compare the scan of Teletraan 15 Chapter 2 I have: to the scan of the same chapter that TFWiki has on the chapter's page: I just hope someone out there still has those files. I'll see if I can somehow get my hands on a physical copy in the meantime, though.
I'll have a look for you but I've been looking for a while and never found much of the manga. I don't believe there are digital copies available (if there are, I'd be happy to buy them and send them your way), and physical copies appear to be fairly sparse and expensive. As for, specifically, the Teletraan 15 Go! Go! Compilation, it was a WonderFest 2007 exclusive, so the chances of getting one for a reasonable price are slim, if you can even find one. That being said, I think there is a copy available on Mandarake still - I'll check later and update if I find anything. Unfortunately, the staff of TFwiki are puritans, so the chance of getting anything out of them is slim, let alone having their help to track down sources. They hate Kiss Players so much that the only reason they seem to acknowledge it is because they need to look like know-it-alls, and not acknowledging it means they wouldn't... know it all. But even then, TFwiki's Kiss Players info is quite sparse. Speaking of puritans, don't be surprised if this thread is overrun with screeching harpies and/or gets locked/deleted because of the subject matter. People can't handle 2D drawings around here without losing their minds. EDIT: This guy has partial scans of multiple pages (of varying quality, though), and implies he read the whole thing. Perhaps he has a copy of some description? Might be worth reaching out to him. There is still one copy on Mandarake. I'm loathe to link it because I really want it for myself, but I can't afford it for another couple of weeks at best, so... here: https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1081732313&lang=en There's technically a second copy for a lower price, but it says it's damaged (no idea what kind of damage though - it doesn't say, and the photos don't make it clear). Hopefully someone such as @The Demiurge picks it up and scans (maybe even translates) it, so I don't miss out completely.
