Got mine today. I hate to say it, but this feels like it was designed by the interns.
The shoulder joints are hindered, the hips are loose and those legs...oof...are just bad.
Any time a figure needs fixes out of the package it instantly gets marked down a grade. This figure is a solid D-.

I dunno which Tracks figure I was unhappier with: this one or the MP.
Well, I got rid of the MP.
This one? It’s a piece of crap, but it’s still better than the MP.

Hasbro, you could have done better.
Man... all you had to do was retool the Runamuck / Runabout mold.

3P upgrade pieces will serve this figure well. I’m keeping it.
At least until 3P makes a better one.

So, I did the leg fix that involves heating the pin and driving it in further. It actually works, but even so, the shin tabs are just way too small to catch properly.
Seals up nicely in alt mode now:

Oh, hey, a flying car mode?
Without a flight stand hole, which seems to be the norm anymore and is absent here because the interns didn't read their memos, it's almost useless.

I basically just have it balanced here:

Can't deny that the bot mode looks the part.

    Overall, still a D-.

I have a couple of questions about the leg fix:

    - is there a video or tutorial with pictures to show how to do this? I've read several of the posts in this forum, but I'm not a modder at all. I can't tell which way the metal peg needs moved and how far to move it.

-i've seen a couple of posts that seemed to indicate the legs are fixable with only future polish. Has anyone done this method and have it work well?

If you've never modded, it isn't a novice fix. It involves heating the flat head of the pin on the white pivot bar that holds the outer fender just enough to soften the plastic, then drive it in with a few soft taps with a small hammer or pin punch. Too hot and it could damage the white piece. Too cool and it could damage the fender.

THank you for the information, but then how would I fix the legs?

Try clear nail polish and drip some between the joints. Wipe off the excess immediately with a damp paper towel.

For whatever reason, I've always liked Tracks. No attachment to the character, but liked the bot/car mode, so I was looking forward to this one....and was let down by it immediately after pulling it from the box. Immediately had QC issues with the legs being SUPER floppy at the waist/hips, so that wasn't a great impression right off the bat. His ability to pose is hindered by two completely limp/dead legs, so that turned me off pretty quickly. I worked through the transformation, and I've got the same issues as everyone else - leg issues, tail fins installed incorrectly, and the fenders sticking out in alt mode.

...which is such a damn shame for this figure. He looks fantastic, and once he was revealed, I preordered him immediately. The bot mode is gorgeous, and is a fantastic looking embodiment of Tracks. I actually didn't have any issues getting the legs to collapse under the hood correctly for the transformation to alt mode, and the vehicle mode is really nice looking. It is tight and compact, and while I'd prefer a hood graphic with some yellow on the flame as more of a color break, it looks great. I can even overlook the fender tabbing issue, as I love the looks of the alt mode, and in the long term, I'm not going to care about the fenders not tabbing perfectly, but what I AM going to be ticked about is the functionality of the legs. For a new figure at $20 or up, it's not acceptable fresh out of the box and it immediately soured my feelings on the figure, which still remains after fiddling with it for a bit....but on the bright side, he is rather "swooshable" in jet car mode!

Great looking figure; I just wish it didn't have significant QC issues.

Tracks featured in an episode of season 2 of sunbow and instantly stood out to me. He befriended mechanic Raul who was a figure that came with the tracks mp. With his striking red face and English swave george Saunders type voice plus his ability to fly made him a character most fans never forgot. He was in marvel UK too mostly in background scenes without really doing anything. He had one of the coolest altmode though.

I'm disappointed to hear about the qc issues but some copies have been okay. I'm expecting mine this week. While the mp remains my definitive version of the character I can mess with this one and leave the mp on the shelf along with my mp Road rage. I'm also getting the new version of her too.

Nah I love the mp. Not sure what issues you had with it but that's a cool figure.

Would it have looked as on-model tho'? That worked for Generations Tracks/Wheeljack because it was a stylized take on the character that took liberties with his look while still looking thoroughly Tracks. Would Hasbro have been able to work the Runabout/muck mold with that specific corvette without compromising the alt and bot mode? Just asking conversationally, not confrontationally. :)

A retooling can make the alt mode look like a ‘Vette. The design and engineering of both figures have more in common than not. Even if proportions change, the engineering can remain.

So I don’t see why not.

The wings interference with the arms.
    The hood.
How it all came untabbed whenever I tried to pose it.
That all hallow backpack got pretty unsightly.

Just dug out my MP and it's okay. But not really loving the Kingdom figure either. Need to figure out where my CHUG Tracks is.
