Here we have the second of the true Fossilizers Ractonite . Robot mode is like what we got with Paleotrex just not as bizarre unfortunately. I am not a fan of the knight look head honestly i hope that look is not going to continue going forward on these. Like the Fossilizer who came before it you will either love it or hate it. I love them. There is a way around the silly stump for a hand in robot mode with just himself. You can armor up other figures with him or build other monsters the possibilities are as endless as your imagination. Beast mode does the job its supposed to bones and very museum vibes. I held fast to my only 1 Fossilizer of each rule but will buy every one they make(including repaints/retools. I really love these guys. He fits in great with the other Predacons we have so far .Oddly even though not as bizarre as Paleotrex his name and color makes me think of Mactonite .You remember that Mcdonalds moon man who played the piano? 20210312_135758.jpg 20210312_135846.jpg 20210312_134700.jpg 20210312_134631.jpg 20210312_131220.jpg 20210312_130957.jpg 20210312_131805.jpg 20210312_142040.jpg 20210312_141914.jpg 20210312_142109.jpg 20210312_141322.jpg 20210312_180303.jpg 20210312_180341.jpg 20210312_181425.jpg 20210312_175201.jpg 20210314_181624.jpg 20210314_181444.jpg 20210314_182108.jpg 20210314_182826.jpg 20210314_183940.jpg

Great review! Can you share any of the "recommended" weapons configurations from the instructions when you get a chance?

I also intend to get all of these guys but I do think it's a bit of a shame that the coloring of the first two is so different. It would be a lot of fun to mash them together to create hybrid dino monstrosities.

Paleotrex is good for monster forms. Ractinite is going to be good for weapons.

Looks good, although something about the robot mode legs looks off. One of the hands just being a 5mm peg is annoying, but replacing it with the skull is nice.

I've managed to resist the temptation to get more than one Paleotrex, but doing the same with this guy may be way more difficult. Good parts for weapons, and he just seems to lend himself to having more than one very well.

Those weapon modes look so cool, even better than Paleotrex. Very hyped for this guy now!

    Alright, two questions.

First, does the "crest" on the beast head feel loose to you guys? It is on mine, and I don't know if it's a part that's supposed to detach or not... not detaching it to be safe.

Second, the instructions listed state that the middle horn can be removed. Tried to budge it out, but it's wedged on tight... anyone managed to get theirs out?

My crest is not loose though I never removed it. That middle horn on mine is like yours have not taken it out . Its extremely tight probably the paint.

The crest does detach, but for what purpose Im not sure. ... Mine was loose to begin with as well, and after seeing a YouTuber show how it comes apart I decided to give it a go.

The nose horn on my copy wont budge either, yet the top two on the crest came off without any problems.

These Fossilizers are awesome! They have such a fun play factor. I hope Hasbro keeps making them. They remind me so much of those also wood kits that you would find in museums:

Nose horn is glued on, which is odd.

The nose horn on mine was on backwards out of the box, so I had no choice but to get it off. It was INCREDIBLY tight, but did come out. Got it put on the right way and I don’t think I’m ever going to try taking it off again.

Ractonite looks to be the best of the Fossilizers so far in my opinion. The Styracosaurus mode is damn near perfect, and that's probably the mode he'll spend most of his time in

The horn on his nose is a little short, though I imagine that was done for safety reasons. Would've been cool of it could've been removed and used as a sword though

    Ractonite is pretty good!
I expected a little more complaining about their non-standard hands (they don't have 5mm pegholes, they have 5mm posts) but (like Paleotrex) they look pretty badass in either mode and I can't wait to get this one combined with the other weaponizers and fossilizers to create cool cyborg dinosaur robot weirdoes.

It comes out but good lord the amount of force you need. Might not be a bad idea to stand it down before putting it back in. It's a harder material than whatever used for the other horns.
