he has both of those and a better knee bend, though the back of the legs are a bot hollow, though im sure some gap fillers will be designed at some point

Just out of curiosity, why do you guys not like ton ton he seems like a decent reviewer to me, please keep the discussion civil.

 

Plus he'd probably have to actually be in the Netflix cartoon first to earn a spot in that toyline.

 

A lot of it stems from his review of ER Ratchet where he basically called it a piece of shit for being a redeco of ER Ironhide. He was really angry and yelling in the review if I am remembering correctly. Rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, myself included. Plus some people don’t like full reviews of stolen figures for ethical reasons and it is a well known fact at this point that all his figures are stolen.

 

1. he buys illegally stolen figures
2. when he reviewed on of these stolen figures (ER ratchet, which was notoriously hard to get hold of) he threw it about whining like a spoiled child that is was a remold of ER ironhide
3. he apparently dresses like spongebob
4. he dislikes SS DOTM megatron because its hollow in vehicle mode, thats it thats the only reason he doesnt like it.

 

I didn't see the review, but didn't someone say he also destroyed his ER Ratchet? Which also pissed people off because its one of the most sought figures of the line due to being Amazon exclusive and Amazon kind of dropped the ball pretty bad regarding its exclusives.

Which makes NO SENSE whatsoever seeing as Ironhide and Ratchet have shared molds since the 80's!

 

So I see what Hasbro/TT is trying to do. I\'m not sure it really works thought. They definetly used the T30 mold as a starting point. There are just so many engineering similarities. But I do think  instead of doing \"better but smaller\" per se, they instead tried to do different.

Rewmoving the  wing flapping feature allowed them to simplify the backpack design greadly, which in turn allowedc them to position / mold the alt mod abdomen in a more \"atheltic\" shape and move the robot legs backwards relative to where the T30 design was. That works well. 

The key gimmick of the figure is clearly the purpple extured plastic used for the eyes (in both modes) and wings. It\'s a really nteresting intepretation about how the light in the cartoon was reflected on those shiny surfaces. 

They also decided to put two wasp mode legs on the robot mode legs and one wasp mode leg on the robot mode arm, instead of the reverse as on the T30.

I like it, but I\'m not sure i\'ll use it. I think two things throw me off.

First, the green and yellow are weird. The T30 green was better. And in turn the green is changing the tint of the yellow that is painted over it. It comes off looking cheap.
Second, the thicker bug legs. I think I know why they are doing it: those things broke easily on T30 and these are much more robust. But Waspinator\'s CG model srunk the leg kibble on the robot mode arms to be very small, and eliminated the other pair on his robot mode legs. So seeing him with his biggest leg kibble ever is just weird. The T30 design made it easily to fix by putting them on mushroom pegs you can pop out. I think the only thing that could fix this is some kind of transforming 3P piece.

I\'ll get it because its $22 and who cares. But I\'m not sure if I\'lll display it. I\'ll need to be convinced.

Having watched the review a couple of times, it seems like the Designers went into this with a couple of objectives in mind to improve upon the T30 version:

• Attach the wasp head to the beast-mode more securely
• Get the robot arms on the inside of the beast-mode
• Remove the gimmick

These were accompanied by their overarching line objectives of real-world-inspired beast-modes and ankle tilts.

And they actually achieved four of the five, which makes their tripping up on the real-world design so strange. The legs and antenna are just horrific to look at. As I've quipped before, everything brown lets it down. If this is the final version, it's a real shame, because they're marring quite a good attempt to better an already great figure.

Then there's the ridiculous decision with the weapon, which is turning into a repeating theme with the line and looks to be continuing next year with what we've heard of Tarantulas.

 

He throws tantrums to create drama and generate views. Typical streamer shit when the thing you're doing is boring.

There is of course absolutely nothing dramatic about Transformers collecting. Of any given line, 20% is brilliant, 60% is good, 20% is hot garbage. This is why EmGo's the best. The good stuff excites him and makes you excited. If something lands with a thud, ehhhh at least you can get a good laugh out of it for a few minutes. But it's never a negative experience.
