Huh! I guess I was just comparing them to the previous iterations of Waspy’s toys and CGI design… but damn, you’re right! Thanks for the enlightenment!

On the subject of repaints and retools for Kingdom Waspinator Buzzsaw is certainly a given. Really just swap the head and give the base mold a different color and you're finished. Perfect way to give us more Beast Era Select releases.

Also if Hasbro's going to continue giving us non combining versions of the Magnaboss and Tripredacus team I can actually see them using Waspinator to give us a Cicadacon/DJ from it given how Cicadacon/DJ's dsign has some similar traits to Waspinator. It would be preferable to just doing BW Inferno who logically is in need of a new Voyager mold.

Not a problem, I'll be honest, I had to look it up myself. Never knew hornets were a type of wasp so I learned something too :thumb

That's far different than saying the two figures are the same. Compare it yourself to the original 1996 mold.

You said the arms folded the same, unless you were talking about their elbows it seemed you implied they transformed the same with your statement when they very obviously don't. Neither fold the same way as the original either. So then what did you mean by saying that the arms fold the same way?

Im in the boat that designing K Waspy, they basically went "here's T30 Waspinator.. make this look more like this (gives pic of CGI show model) at the same time as looking more like this (gives pic of hornet)... oh, and absolutely no springs in the design, and let's keep ball joints to a minimum... otherwise, make sure it's this (points to T30 Waspy again) but not so much that everyone agrees it is"

No disrespect to @Fenrys , just subjective disagreement: I don't think "same character, same class" covers it. The rotating dual heel spurs, the overly junk-laden thorax, arms/hands still clearly visible on the sides of the beast mode...

I see it as more of a T30 ver. 1.8 than a new design.
Like Strong Bad's instructions for drawing a dragon, this is "S and a more different S."

So much so that my main motivation (if any) to purchase will be to head swap this with T30... maybe. Ugh, then again... I want to support Beast Wars too, so...

I'm also vehemently opposed to Inferno having ANYTHING to do with this mold in any way.

I have an extreme case of insectophobia, but I love that alt mode. I can get why people don't like Tonton's mistransformed robot mode, but the alt mode is really well detailed. Also, the wings are purple, this is your maybe 4th Animated update ever.

The black stripes are following the molded lining of the thorax. Wasp thorax's are segmented in order to flex for stinging, and as such have curves like on this figure.

It's another result of making his beast mode more accurate to a real wasp.

I thought it was pretty clear: the shoulders land at the join between the head and thorax, with the arms pointing backwards so the fists wind up sitting where the thorax and abdomen meet. Are the Kingdom arms tucked further in? Yeah. But it's clearly inspired by the T30 transformation; none of the other Waspinator toys do anything like that.

.....the original had the shoulders fold in and land between the head and thorax, thrilling 30 does not, the shoulders sit on the outside of the thorax. Furthermore the arms on T30 are situated on the outside of the thorax and swing upward and back while on kingdom the arms fold into and make the bottom of the thorax. Kingdoms arm placement is inspired more by the original figure than it is by t30.

I absolutely LOVE the deco on Kingdom Waspy. The colors just work really well. And while I get the purple might not be for everyone, I personally really like it. Kinda pays homage to Animated. And his articulation is pretty much perfect. As expected from WFC.

And sure, his weapon is a little bit eh compared to the generations version, and the legs are a tad bit thick, but I am more than eager to get this guy.
Kinda glad I don't have to track down the generations Waspinator.

EDIT: Wait, what if his gun is also kinda animated inspired? Just what with it nearly enveloping his arm. Kinda reminds me of the stinger weapons. Idk.
