I've never owned a Generations Blaster. I think it's time I rectified that little oversight... And Slammer means I complete my Metroplex.  

 

Grabbed my Blaster and Slammer from BBTS. Now I can be confident that I will at least be able to grab him if they don't come up for sale on Pulse. As a bonus BBTS usually gets shipments late so as to give you the opportunity to cancel before they drop into your POL.

 

I was a kid. And I can verify we were well aware it didn't make sense. But it was Soundwave. He was awesome. So we went with it. Which is basically the explanation for everything in the G1 oeuvre.

 

Put in my preorder at BBTS. Choke on that EE.

This feels like shade: "Originally touted as not having pre-orders for the final wave of Kingdom, the final wave of Kingdom now have pre-orders."

 

I hope we get an Eject (and other Autobot cassettes) in normal solid plastic color sometimes in the future release.

 

Because Kingdom Blaster is evidently a foreshadowing to Transformers Legacy which have its figures utilizing transparent accessories. (Think of it as being similar to how Buzzsaw had a toy in Combiner Wars, but it was foreshadowing Titans Return.)

Rumor is that Wave 5 was a late addition to Kingdom as it was in Siege. They mostly split up wave 4 deluxes (pushing back Slammer and Pipes) and pulling forward Blaster from Legacy, so Blaster is essentially a Legacy figure in Kingdom the way Astrotrain was an Earthrise toy in Siege.

 

Remember when line gimmicks were actually something fun for kids or interesting rather than “hey here is a random piece of clear plastic that takes away budget from the figure and isn’t that interesting.”

 

I like them! And apparently they combine (from what I’ve heard no idea if it’s true) so to me this seems fun! Don’t think the room in the budget for the Energon weapon would be enough to make any serious changes to the base figure. Though that definitely could be untrue for Blaster, though I wouldn’t want an Ejectless Blaster (at least with the knowledge if the Blaster we have) and I’m digging Eject being this translucent little funky fella!

Not really understanding the frustration with Eject. We'll likely get the rest of the cassettes in time. At least Blaster comes with one rather than having to hunt them out entirely separately.

True, tho it was more a visual thing on the figure itself from what I remember. Plus there were far more things to play with in Energon. From combiners, to firing gimmicks.

 

Honestly I can’t even say I care too much lol. Maybe that’s me having low standard haha. Personally I’m conflicted on Skids weapon. I think it’s the worst out of all of them so on one hand I wouldn’t care all too much if it was replaced with less hollowness but on the other it’s such a wacky, out-there design that I can’t help but appreciate it as shitpost in weapon form. But for the others (except maybe Arcee) I love the inclusion.

While we’re on the topic, does anyone know if Dragstrip even comes with any Energon weapons? Are they supposed to be the two guns he comes with despite not being the same clear plastic that everyone else has? Weird.

 

Pre-ordered Blaster. Not missing on this one.

 

Preordered Pipes. Contemplating Blaster, but my boy Pipes gets top billing. And geez November 2021 is ending pretty fast.

No idea who Slammer is, but I'm already getting Warpath, Inferno, Cliffjumper, and Wheeljack to round out my Autobot G1/comic team.
