That makes it even worse. They had the entire assortment's budget to distribute and they chose not to prioritize giving Cheetor his signature weapon? That's just a bad call. Especially when, with just the slightest amount of thinking ahead, they could have planned for the gun's inevitable reuse with Tigatron.
It’s not the absence of the gut gun on Cheetor that bothers me. It’s the stupid fucking tail axe, which A. Is included with the wrong Cheetor and B. Curves the wrong fucking way for him to be able to use it. You can’t get a single halfway decent looking pose out of him because his axe just slaps into his own body. It really should have turned into his tail sniper.
That's not how molds work. If Cheetor had a gut gun, Tigatron wouldn't have been able to have the same exact one as he's a different mold at the Voyager price point.
Perhaps @PrimeVsPrime could provide us with a pic of Kingdom Cheetor holding Tigatron's gut-gun, both in robot-mode, and tucked into the fist on the underside of the beast-mode.
At this point Cheetor has had just as many molds referencing the Season 1 design that haven't had the gun as molds that have. Not having the gun really isn't that big of a deal It's an axe whip, you've gotta use your imagination with toys Tigatron doesn't share any parts with Cheetor though. He's not a retool, he's an entirely new mold.
Except in this case it's tied to Tigatron's mold, which doesn't share anything with Cheetor, meaning it couldn't be a shared part because they are 2 unique molds.
Then they're not unique molds, unlike Cheetor and Tigatron. They weren't designed to share any parts. This really shouldn't be this hard for people to accept.
The gun would be part of the mold, so it would be a shared mold with the gun as the shared part of the mold.
But it's not. It's part of Tigatron's mold, Tigatron shares no parts with Cheetor, period. This isn't rocket science. The reality is that the two molds do not share 1 single part, they were not designed to share parts and Cheetor was intentionally designed without his gun. We can keep going back and forth ad nauseum but that will not change the facts of the matter. Honestly, it's kind of annoying that the thread that's supposed to be about Tigatron has turned into the "lets whine about Cheetor thread"
I'm talking about what they should have done, not what they actually did. Maybe that's the source of confusion here. Cheetor and Tigatron should have been designed from the outset with the understanding that the gun could be a shared part.
Personally, I'd argue that Cheetor has had just as many molds (if not more) that reference his season 1 design that don't have a gun as he has molds that do. Has gun 96 mold (including his repaints) Masterpiece R.E.D. Doesn't have gun Universe 2.0 Spark Armor Cyberverse Deluxe Cyberverse Kingdom Even if you take away the Cyberverse figures for technically representing a different character, you could also take away R.E.D. for not being a transforming figure, making it 2-2 for including/not including a gun. At least he does include a weapon that Cheetor did have in BW unlike the club and ninja stars that came with the Universe Cheetor.
The point is that Cheetor hasn't always had his gun when it comes to figures that are a homage to his season 1 design.
Why though? Sure they're homaging the season 1 body, but that's all it is. They're not aiming for absolute show accuracy and if you're so adamant that Cheetor NEEDS his gun then you are capable of getting one of the 3p guns (as you have already done). Continuing to complain about it in this thread is honestly off topic.
Why shouldn't Cheetor have a clown head? I mean technically they could do anything they want, but some decisions are worse than others. I'm not continuing to complain about anything. I made one post about it in relation to the on topic subject of Tigatron's gun, everything else has been responses to people responding to my initial post or responses to my initial post. Or to put it another way...continuing to argue that Cheetor doesn't need his gun, shouldn't have his gun, or couldn't have his gun in this thread is honestly off topic.
So anyone else looking forward to this guy coming out? Looking back over the pics I think the only thing I might have asked for differently from this figure is some way to hide the green waist piece in beast mode. Maybe put it on a rotating piece like Magnus' belt.
