It's good to have options, but I gotta say, I think you really nailed it the first time. I love this one.
Yeah, the new mouth is too wide. If I had to make changes to your original sculpt I'd say bring the lower lip in a little, and maybe pull the upper lip down just barely to leave less of a gap between them? Otherwise you nailed it the first time.
So excited for the comic head! This little part from Marvel US is one of my favorite comic book pages ever, and its all due to the great facial expressions.
At the time, I didn't really like Wildman's Galvatron... but now, when all we get are really robot-y faces, I've come to appreciate how incredibly expressive they are. IIRC he said Galvatron was his favorite one to draw, and it really really shows. Anyway, Wildman-style head for Selects Galvatron. Yes. I would buy multiple sets to modify as many parts of this toy into Wildman Galvatron as is possible. I would go full on Ship of Theseus, where the only parts of the original toy are some ratchets and a couple of screws, to have a Wildman Galvatron.
OK, I just ordered a Kingdom Galvatron and the ZX Studio Upgrade kit with the better feet. Now anxiously looking forward what you will have for us in store when you're done
Do you have plans to put the different options for sale on a specific marketplace? And if you do then do you have an estimate at how much each head will cost?
If you can, I'd suggest also sell poseable (or alternatively preposed though I prefer poseable) hands. The hands are connected via mushroom pegs so they should be easy to replace. Sell me a set as I'd love to make a video of it (I'm not a big YT channel BTW)! I'm based in Melbourne so if you're in the area, I can go pick a set up!
Hi all. Just checking in to let you know I'm still here. I've been waiting on receiving the Selects release, as I'd like to finalise the colour-match before updates and release. I was meant to receive a copy last week from Bulletproof Villain, but they've dropped the ball and it seems like they've postponed to November 30, though I've not had any formal notification from them. I've ordered another copy from somewhere with stock and am attempting to cancel my pre-order with BPV. So hopefully all will be rectified soon. I've also experienced a personal loss recently, which is why I've been slow to respond. But I'm taking time off this week, so hopefully things will align and get moving shortly. Thanks for your understanding.
Yeah, Galvatron would have probably been the most fun to draw for almost all the artists who got to give him a go. I never had a problem with Wildman/Baskerville, but hey, I think Reed had his place too. Just the energy and expression associated with both I and II made most depictions engaging. I'm currently considering only bonus faces for physical copies, But If all goes well and I'm invested in creating more, that could expand to the other distribution methods. That's actually not a bad idea. I mean, I wouldn't attempt individual finger articulation at that size, but given the fandom's fondness for depicting Galvatron atop UM, grasping his cab like it's 2006, a single hinge might be an idea. Something like Rodimus' fists.
