Looking great! I do wish the grey was white, but its a minor issue IMO. It's an awesome mold, plenty of character and tons of articulation, and the issues with the pegs aren’t even issues if you know about it going in. I’ve transformed Grapple plenty of times without any breakage. You just have to be careful.

I'm ready for Artfire and hopefully an eventual Hauler from Grapple.

However, as much as I'm excited to add this guy to my shelf I'm still bummed this isn't BW Inferno.

Very true, but I like the story idea of heroic autobot turned evil predacon, then back to autobot again. But to each is own.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

There seems to be some variation on the issue, as I found when when I twizzled a 5mm drillbit in my Grapple's foot ports, and, pardon the pun, it didn't touch the sides.
I even checked by fully inserting the flat non-drill end of the bit, so they were straight but the pegs were still way too tight until I snipped the sides of the peg "cap" in line with the hollow sides and lightly shaved the posts.
My theory is that, in some cases at least, because the hollow side of the peg is up against a flat side of the port even a slight excess amount of plastic on the peg, particularly at the cap, it can create a plunger effect can causing an air vacuum seal when inserted (which is why it has the strength to shear off the peg, and why, in at least one case, one person managed to save the peg by popping the leg at the thigh mushroom and rotating the foot until they could get the peg out). I think the hex ports are oriented sort of "incorrectly", if they were 90° rotated with the pointing corners at the sides, thus one of them being in line with the hollow channel of the peg, then this seal effect might be prevented (as the pointed side wouldn't "plug" the peg channel as effectively/stably as the flat side may possibly be doing).

This is just a theory, someone who knows the science better may easily debunk me, as it is I'd definitely advise doing BOTH fixes, just in case.
On mine at least the key issue definitely was down to minimal excess mass at the peg cap, rather than twisted or small ports.

Well I actually have a drill and a drill bit set or 3 and I just take to first bit that won't turn freely in the port and drill it out. If that isn't enough then I use the next size up. It isn't rocket science.

To pose? Yes, but I honestly didn't like his transformation due to how flat his alt mode was. The wheels should elevate the alt mode more.

He was also supremely cheap, and is the reason I'll be skipping Inferno. Granted Inferno already wins because his head is black, so the day-glow effect from Grapple's plastic being so cheap won't be present on him.

Just like Kingdom Inferno if Earthrise Grapple is any indication.

    Thanks for sharing my photos!

Yes I\'ll confirm Inferno still suffers from the peg QC issue present on Grapple, please be careful with your copies everyone! Proceed with appropriate measures to loosen the pegs (hobby knife/sandpaper)

I found him at a store 3 days ago (idk why he\'s out so early but I found him behind a Cyclonus lol) but hopefully this means Wave 2 will be rolling out sooner than expected!

Besides the QC issue, Inferno has much better joint tolerances than Grapple, everything is nice and tight. Headsculpt is a heck of a lot better too. Real clean stuff.
All the fun little accessories are nice too, though I wish he came with some blue effect parts to simulate water.

Only minor nitpick I, and a lot of you, have is that they used grey plastic for his wings and Firetruck ladder instead of traditional white. Unfortunate, but thankfully the wings are on pins, you can easily hammer them out to paint em white if you want!

Damn, looks much nicer than Grapple--but I still don't need a new Inferno,
I am really hoping that Hasbro or at least Takara will at some point release a Gen Selects
neon green Hauler out of this mold. I also still have and enjoy two different Artfire's,
so I don't need a new one of those, but sadly, knowing Hasbro's propensity for bundling things,
that seems more likely--bundled with Battlemaster guns and maybe a Stepper repaint of Jazz...

I have no doubt inferno will get the same gap filler kit that grappel received. It's 90% the same, just exclude the crane fillers and change the paint colors.

Wow! That's an amazing facesculpt. He looks especially sexy in the second pic. It's unfortunate that his designer didn't do the facesculpts for SS86 Kup and Blurr.

Just sand or shave the pegs or the slots. It's insanely stupid that you still have to, but it's not terribly hard.

It's also not like that toy was at all satisfactory as G1 Inferno unless you were really particularly interested in using him as a Combiner torso. We'll get BW Inferno soon enough, I can feel it. Only getting 11 out of 14 Season 1 characters right away isn't quite as complete as would be ideal, but it's also way too many for them not to fairly quickly follow up on it and finish off that cast.

It's not even as hard as that. When looking at the pegs from the front or rear, you'll see the extra lip of plastic where the peg transitions from the hollow cavity to the round bottom. Just cut that lip off. Just straight off with a pair of hobby cutters, and then maybe just go at the edge with a hobby knife/file to clean the cut up a bit if it suits you. Takes only a couple of seconds. No need to bother sanding the whole thing down around or anything.

There have been at least two G1 Inferno toys since Generations began as a concept, plus this one.

But I get it, kids love firetrucks and this a line for ki- hahahahahahhahahahahahah

And I honestly hated both of them.

The Universe one just had this super chunky, unappealing robot mode and didn't resemble the "muscular" look of the G1 toy at all. And of course the Combiner Wars one was just red Hot Spot.

I love the Earthrise mold, even with its inherent "cheapness". Captures my nostalgia for G1 Inferno perfectly, and without "dumbing down" the vehicle mode as much as the MP did.
