Inferno: looks good, but they went with the G1 toy head sculpt, over the G1 toon head sculpt, I'll most likely get an Earthrise Grapple head, paint it black, and swap it.

Huffer: looks amazing, but the head sculpt looks a little off IMO. I'll most likely see if I can swap the head for the MS-02 Engineer, because that head sculpt is spot on toon accurate.

I think this head sculpt in the 3D render actually looks damn near perfect! much better IMO! Not really sure what happened, because unfortunately it didn't translate to the physical figure.

Other than that fantastic Megatron head sculpt (Wish they would upscale it to Voyager), I'm not really interested in anything else.

Huh, that's interesting. I hardly mess around with Grapple, so I kinda forgot he had those there.

On certain levels, I agree with these statements. G1 is overdone and it's overplayed, but for now it sells. The original audience is aging-out. It won't last without some sort of invigoration of new content, but it seems to do that every so often. Beast Wars, which I do think is more niche, is not as readily re-formattable as is a bunch of robots that transform into vehicles. Vehicles change, and the characters change along with them. Unless Primal changes into something other than a gorilla, he's still a gorilla. Been there, done that.

As for cringey dialogue, I'm not throwing stones, but nor am I standing in a glass house. I don't protect G1 from criticism. I can still watch S1 of the G1 cartoon, and that's about it. Nothing's terribly cringey there. S2 gets stupid, the '86 movie is painful at times, and I don't think I'll ever suffer through S3 again. Truth is, as an adult, I have difficulty enjoying the dialogue from any TF cartoons or movies. It feels like the intended written-for audience is about 11 years old. Even if Siege avoided being stupid, it succeeded in DULL and cliche.

I can see people being tired of G1, and I don't blame them, necessarily. But I don't think anyone should see G1 persisting at the exclusion of BW or any other variant of TF. If Hasbro thinks Beast Wars can stand on its own, they will produce for it. You think they don't want the money?

Cowabunga! That Inferno looks dashing. Huffer looks cool too, but I already have the MFT and I don't like the shield-forming.
The new year looks nice already.

That's not exactly the best comparison, batman and Spiderman have had different designs, suits, adaptions ect. With them being humans in suits giving the added benefit of being able to make other Spidermen and batmen different characters entirely

It's not like dc has been keeping batman like he was in his initial appearance

It's really weird Hasbro decided to ripoff Phoenix King for this Inferno guy.

They decided to go pretty zany with Ractonite, didn't they? Can't tell if I like the fig or not...

I'm having trouble understanding his lil' mouthie...it's like his face just ends suddenly?

Core Starscream looks like the Classics one. Very good. Megatron looks more like a tank than his full size. (At the expense of more kibble but I’m fine with it. Huffer. The dump truck attachment is great. He is useful now. Cool mold. Looks like it will be good for customizers. Inferno looks like how everyone expected he would. I’m liking these new ones a lot. That seeker mold best get recolored like there’s no tomorrow though. We need some new legends sized seekers. Don’t know exactly where I’d rank it against the Generations Legends Class (T30?) release, the old Universe mold, or the Legends of Cybertron Thundercracker and Starscream molds, but it is definetly near the top.

My only problem with Huffer is that he's not here right now.

    GIVE ME THAT TO ME.

I'm wondering if it doesn't come off and form a helmet or something.

The odd thing is that he's so much better looking than Grapple.

Aren't they both "ripoffs" of Diaclone 10?
