Man, I'm going to have to shell out for that upgrade kit to allow Mirage to shoulder mount his rocket launcher. Love the look of this retool, but so strange that they would overlook such an obvious part of the design while retooling him. Especially since the Siege version pulled it off just fine.

Now y'all may flog me for this but

I think mirage is fine without a shoulder mounted rocket launcher. I mean, like. He's like a quick and stealth-type guy right? What's he doing with a big loud heavy ordinance like that strapped to his shoulder?

Classics mirage didn't have a rocket launcher and it worked fine.

I'm disappointed that Mirage’s.missile weapon has no place to peg Into the shoulder.

It's a quick and dirty solution that only really looks good from a front-on angle, but the missile launcher piece that comes with the Lambro mold (the tube with the rectangular tab for plugging into the shoulder) is long enough to plug into Mirage's back port and have the missile launcher kinda hover over his shoulder. The addon parts to allow for proper shoulder mounting will definitely be necessary for it to actually be posable, but for the moment, I think it works, especially if you have a Lambro figure with the piece molded/painted white.

This is the one I've been looking at on eBay: Upgrade Kit Weapon Shoulder Parts For Kingdom Maximal Grimlock Mirage | eBay

Yeah, Classics Mirage didn't have one and that's fine. This version comes with one so I'd actually like him to be able to mount it on his shoulder instead of forcing it as a handheld weapon. If you're fine with him not having it then you can just toss it to the side right? Different strokes and all that.

Looking at the online photos, they have it worded, “Does not need to be removed to transform.”

Oh cool. They just tab in and they don't need to be removed when transforming. Okay, I'll definitely grab this set instead.

Super easy to install, but get it direct from jrcdesignstore.com, usually prices there are a tad cheaper than ebay

But F1 cars don't have "bumpers".

If you're in need of one, it's already too late.

I am so freaking tempted to buy this kit, but if I buy one upgrade kit for someone, then I'll hafta buy all of the upgrade kits for everyone, and there's a LOT of these kits out there to buy. :lol

One of us, one of us, one of us...

I do think that this is just a kit that has to be bought, though, since if you give me a rocket launcher for a character who traditionally has it on their shoulder, you know that's where it has to go, and it just feels wrong otherwise.

I understand buying the kit to keep Mirage accurate to his cartoon appearance. But it would take up a precious 5mm slot I could use to customize Mirage with fossilizers/weaponizers.

I was super disappointed by this once I got mine in hand today too .....I thought about getting the JRC ones, but I didn't want to add any more height to his shoulders; I don't want a Brock Lesnar looking Mirage.

Best solution I can come up with for Mirage and his shoulder weapon debacle.

two of Nonnef's plastic swivel adapters
    [IMG]

pegged into the hole behind his shoulder, which is soooooooo shallow barely any 5mm peg can hold there, but whatever

    at least it looks good

This seems to solve all the issues, as they have multiple pivot points in all directions, so you can move it as his arms moves.

Yeah. Bumpers look fucking wrong on F1 and if I got this kit, I'll leave them off in alt mode.

Only things you need in an F1 crash is a strong safety cell and the blessings of whatever god/s you believe in.

Well, that's obnoxous. I got my copy in, and it seems the port on Mirage's back is slightly too big for 5 mm pegs, which is really annoying. I remember reading about this issue, but I thought it might be a one-off. It's not just the missile launcher part from the lambros, it won't fit any 5 mm peg even slightly. And in general, tolerances are off on Mirage. Some things take a scary amount of effort to tab together out of the box (the spoiler tabs in particular), and the section of the legs that form the main body of the car don't want to plug in together as far as they should be able to go.
