Nice. How do you paint such a small section? Tape things off? Or was this pen rather than brush?

I picked one up today at Walmart, it was sitting alone in the electronics/ movie toy area.

I think the shoulders are ok on this one.

Has anyone identified if a box number has a change? This looks like 11531

Edit. Scrolled back, flipped shoulders, yup, this one is good. AWESOME. The main reason I wasn't running out to buy this one online.

Immediately after pulling this figure from the box you get a solid chunky feel thats screams "im worth the $50 you just gave for me" vibe to it. The plastic, general solid feeling, feels like something I'd pay $120 for a couple years back from a 3rd party.

Whats to say pics haven't? This is the best gavlatron ever. Ill prolly sell Tyrant now. And I LOVE that one, but this is good, man.

Cannon mode is real good too, although I wish I could figure out a way to make the front legs more solid. A bit too squishy for my tastes, but still works well. The legs folding down is a nice idea, and can give a deluxe or voyager a good spot to operate the cannon.

I gotta say, ZERO QC problems. Every joint feels great. If a smaller, thick figure like this is the new norm for leader class, I'm fine with it too. This is amazing, and every bit the counterpart to the "toy of the year" Rodimus Prime.

Where are people finding this guy these days? I saw one at a walmart about 2 months ago but it was a mis-assembled version. I really want to find one but even online it seems to be all preorders.

Thanks, didn't know he had been found in actual gamestop stores. I know he was on gamestop.com, but I missed him then.

I haven't seen him there myself, but I've heard others mention, but as i understand, there's not a lot of rhyme or reason to which gamestops carry the stuff.
Some even carry gen selects apparently

Hm.... I'll have to keep checking that section, too. The local wm has cut way down on their pop/collectible section though. I drove around this morning and checked 5 walmarts and 2 targets and came up empty handed. Problem is I have to drive an hour to get to a target and it seems to be the hotspot for transformers these days. The only local option I have is a walmart about 10 minutes away.

Ordered Galvatron this weekend. Should come in a day or two. I’m glad I waited for a sale though, I only paid £33 for him instead of £45 he should have been.

Scored the corrected shoulders version of Galvatron at our local Target, and I hate that it took so long to get him, but he's been nearly impossible to find. It's nice to have a leader class figure without random extra add-ons (I'm looking at you, Shockwave and Astrotrain), and there's a lot packed into this figure as a result. Very creative transformation all the way around, and he definitely looks the part in both modes. We have come a looooong way from the Universe Galvatron figure, and this one is spectacular. The Matrix is a great pack-in, and while I find them unnecessary, the blasters are a great nod to The Revenge as well. Looks great alongside Kingdom Rodimus to boot! Great figure, great engineering (on the corrected shoulders version, at least), and definitely worth picking up if he can be found.

Today I did the shoulder repair, removed the tampos using 91% alcohol soaked qtips, gave him a repro label, painted his chin and belly button with gundam markers und installed the ZX Upgrade kit. Now he looks cool. Just needs a better head and maybe better fists. And maybe complete replacement for his feet instead of shoes. I might paint the feet in matte black as well.

Did you make the “shoes”, or buy them? They look pretty good actually.

The spire and shoes are ZX Upgrade kit. It also includes fillers for the pin holes of the shoulders and a rifle. Also stickers that seemed to not have been cut (hence why I used gundam markers, but seeing as I don't like stickers, gundam markers are probably better anyway :D )

There are a lot of mixed reviews in the General Upgrade Kits Thread but, recent ones aren't good:

There was also a report of the print quality of the feet being "rough" (heavy print lines caused by low resolution) but I don't recall where it was.

I literally posted right before you. Quality is well. It's 3d printed, but it does the job.

Thanks for the help! It looks visually pretty good but it sounds pretty rough quality wise. Ill keep waiting for a different upgrade kit

I wish I could just buy the feet parts. I think a light sanding and matte black paint would be a nice improvement.
