Ah. Makes sense. Like BW TM2 Cybershark and the ones that had floppy legs versus the ones that had tight joints only the only way to know which version you were getting was by checking that production number.

 

Heh, I have the version with the correct shoulder assembly, but still currently have the arms rotated backward so I can have the cannon up higher on the shoulder.  

 

What do you mean? The correct shoulder assembly is the one that leaves the shoulder up higher.




I found out while taking Galvatron apart to repaint that his crown is on its own individual piece. Would make it very easy to replace it with a more accurate crown if someone like Nonnef could make one.

 

I have the correct version with the shoulders up higher, but like the other people that I quoted, I like the cannon being mounted higher up on the front of the shoulder, instead of using the two lower side mounts that Hasbro made.
I have flipped the shoulders around and currently have the shoulders in the lowered position, intentionally, just so I could use the 5mm pin hole for the cannon.

How to tighten the GAP on the bicep of galvatron?

 

If it's a screw, you can fiddle with that, tighten or loosen it as needed. If it's a warp in the plastic itself, maybe you could heat it a hair dryer then squeeze it together. Use something like a tight rubberband or a soft-tipped clamp to hold it in place until the plastic sets. But is it just the angle, or is one shoulder higher than the other?

 

There is no screw, it is pin. That is why I asked.

Then I would try the hair dryer thing. If worse comes to worst, there could be a bit of excess plastic inside preventing it from closing, in which case some disassembly may be required.

 

OK since I have nothing else better to do at work, I looked at all the US sightings threads on here to see where exactly Galvatron has been found. States where he hasn’t been reportedly seen by us in a retail store: Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Vermont, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Of course this doesn’t mean very much as a few of those sighting threads haven’t been posted in since 2016-2019. I just wanted to see where our members are finding him. Also, states that I couldn’t find a reported Galvatron but I did see reported Rhinox which partially suggests there was a Galvatron that got snapped up: Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.
So mostly the uh... low population, grassy plain states. Sucks.

Got everything done for today with 3 hours to spare lol. I mostly just went through the last 1-5 pages of each thread, only took about a half hour.

 

At least people are finding Rhinox at Walmart in addition to Target. I noticed on Target's site they seem to give Galvatron and Commander Rodimus a release date of July 1. Which makes me wonder if Target management didn't put the brakes on stores stocking Galvatron on shelves just before he would have hit Oklahoma. Sightings seem to have dried up the last few days anyhow. Target isn't known for being competent anyhow. Just look at the fiasco they had with those Animal Crossing Amiibo cards a couple months ago. They told people that those would be put up on a specific day at a specific time and people would have to order online and pick their order up in-store (it wasn't supposed to be sold directly in-store). Instead it was selling out instantly online because people were buying up a whole store's allotment in-store due to Target being incompetent and not communicating orders to physical locations. Walmart isn't any better, but then they don't make claims that they are. You know going in it is a roll of the dice with them.

Hi, warming the plastic first , then use the thin head screw driver to pry it open the 2 shoulder round cover, won't it make the plastic to warp and change shape since it is too soft?

I noticed you have stressed the purple tab here, it is a bad design of Hasbro.



A few collectors reported that the purple side tab are flattened after it is pushed into the chest cover tab hole.

FYI, if anyone is keeping track. I just got my 'Leader Box' (UM and Galv) from EE Today. Low shoulders. But the fix doesn't scare me at all. I'm used to working with plastic.

 

has anyone received their galvatron from amazon yet? mine's been pushed right up to tomorrow and i wonder if his shoulders are going to be the fixed ones.

 

Think some people in the Amazon updates thread got theirs with incorrect shoulders.

 

darn. i guess i'll bear with it. hoping for a gap/pin filler kit?
