A friend in Delaware picked one up for me.

Yes, the smooth side should be up, but if it isn't the figure still works fine, it just has slightly lower shoulders.

My guess is that the factory more than likely had several cells assembling this figure and one or more of the cells installed the shoulder parts upside down. So I don't think it matters where you buy it. There will most likely be correct units mixed with incorrect units in every store. Mine will be shipped from Amazon so I won't be able to check before I buy. But I'm not that bothered by the incorrect assembly. You can fix it yourself but the parts may end up with scratches or stress marks. That can also be fixed with a hair dryer, depending how bad the damage is.

I just got my shipping notice from BBTS' second batch. I still have my Amazon preorders and will keep finding and swapping at retail if I have to.

 

It didn't bother me at all, i had mine for 5 days or so, never noticed.....now that its been mentioned....its giving me a nervous twitch... Thanks for pointing this shoulder problem out....whoever did it. You given me OCD Shoulder envy!!

Flip around, got a gaping hole, leave alone, it sits too low...you guys really know how to keep an idiot busy for hours don't ya!

 

I still look at all the promotional material and their miss assembled in that too at this point I don’t even care
I’ve popped the pin on one side with little or no effort… the other one will pop but won’t come out of the shoulder so… I’ve been lucky and no marks so I just re miss assembled the left one so he wast jank. I do prefer him how he is. IF I find one assembled the other way. I’ll have 2

 

Now I'm asking myself if I want to take isopropyl alcohol to him and rub out the battle damage.

 

Galvatron is at least one of the more durable figures for this if you choose to do it so you don't have to worry about wrecking the plastic. The cannon...removing the battle damage on the figure is relatively easy but the cannon is absolute work to get off.

 

The funny thing is that I doubt I would have noticed the difference in the shoulders on mine.

 

They didn’t catch it till late in the game. Even the early ones used for Ad photos was assembled upside down.

 

Do it. A friend did it and said it's very easy, unlike a lot of the other battle damage from Siege.

 

His arms (correctly assembled) have less reach… he won’t be able to give epic nuggies.

 

(Seriously easy and it works really well.)

 

get a second one to Mod the crap out of.
Fix the shoulders
Remove battle damage
Repaint the eyes

My correct shoulders stays untouched

 

If he had been released correctly assembled… I wonder how many people would have rotated the shoulders complaining it wasn’t animation accurate or say the shoulders are not smooth transitions… just round balls that just float their not connected to anything????

People like to nitpick. The correct assembly has its flaws too. I was just wondering what people would have come up with.
Either version is damn near perfect.
My only complaint is the tank treads should have been smaller. It’s a fictional space cannon why did the treads have to be so damn big.
I am hoping for 3rd party arms with fold in 1/2 or smaller treads… you cut or pry off the old arms and screw on the new ones.
