Incidentally, this fix comes from my good buddy @CactusReporter . Full credit to him.
I'm seriously not a fan of the Battle damage paint, but I love the figure itself. The figure looks cool, but the scratchy paint diminishes it and makes it look old and beat up. He was always shiny in the movie / cartoon because he was newly created and he was so powerful and practically invulnerable. I mean, bathing in a lava pit for a lengthy period of time barely phased him. Just fried his sanity circuits.
Anyway, Figure good... battle damage paint idea bad.
Yeah, that's the example I was thinking of! I remember there being more instances of Hasbro doubling down on missasembly in later releases.
Guess we won't know for sure until we actually see the repaints, but I'm keeping my expectations low.
Them using the incorrect head on T-Wrecks also doesn't exactly inspire confidence
I have the 2017 reissue of the 2007 movie Leader Optimus and he still has his biceps backwards after 10 years.
I started to try the shoulder fix for Galvatron, but instantly got a huge stress mark and decided not to do it.
Mine appears to have correct shoulders
Could you post some photos?
Emgo's review is up... for anyone that waited to see one for the retail product.
In utter jealously seeing people get him early. I pre-ordered him just barely a couple of days ago but it seems as if I was too late
I had just paid for Unicron and paid rent when I got the BBTS notification, but it expired about 4 hours before payday so I had to re-preorder him again for whenever he comes in down the road.
I’m just dying to see someone turn him into Energon Megatron now that people are getting their preorders in
I miss SAD PACMAN.
Me looking at Galvatron... bumpies on shoulders or exposed pins... looks at ER Optimus and his 5mm ports sticking out of his smoke stacks, looks at grimlock with no front teeth and pin holes in one side of his face, and me looking at a sea of bots(selves) all with exposed pins, screws kibble bits everywhere.... looks back at Galvatron cyclonus and scourge... “your perfect!”
Anyone who has gotten Kingdom Galvatron in, can you share some comparison pics with KBB MP10V Optimus Prime? Curious how they scale.
the bottom of picture 4 scares me. thats a whole lot of bend to get that arm peg out of the shoulder hole.
So BBTS came through today and this chunky boy arrived.
I was not prepared for just how solid feeling he is. It’s like toting a brick, especially compared to the TR version, who I messed around with just yesterday. His joints are also so tight that at times he’ll unpeg his chest rather than swivel his arm out. This oddly enough seems like the first “neo-leader” class that really feels as if he’s worth the $50 pricetag.
Also, the purple plastic seems to have a gloss over it on which the “battle damage/energon vomit” is then printed. As such removing it with 91% alcohol was actually super easy, barely an inconvenience, and way easier than scrubbing off the paint on Siege Megatron. However I did notice Galvatron is not quite as shiny in the areas the alcohol touches. It’s as if you are removing the gloss the “damage” is printed on, along with it. So anyone really picky about such things should be forewarned.
Overall he’s my new favorite in the Kingdom line so far. I do wish, however, that the little Revenges had been done in purple instead of grey. But my money is on the idea that they will be purple in the toy/comic coloring release.
You could have asked a BBTS rep to extend the day you have to pay for Galvatron, they did it for me once before.
Was surprised to get my In-Stock notification from BBTS about Galvatron. Thought I'd canceled my preorder. Decided to wait for the toy colors version, since Galvatron II is probably my favorite version of the character. Glad BBTS allows cancelations of items that just hit POL
